@Fr12ee44Spewxh @Sharon444martin In my humble view a foreign power likely Russia and or China needed intel on the Trump second term transition, planning, information, everything. Their man had to be in situ as soon as the new Trump administration took office.

Judgement day! The whole point being missed about the Mandelson appointment is that there was an excellent Ambassador already in place who did not need replacing. Dame Karen Pierce, had served from March 2020, she was highly effective and had strong ties to the Trump administration. There was absolutely no reason to get rid of her. Someone wanted Mandelson in there, fast, come hell or high water. So the real question is: Who wanted him in there, why and why was it so urgent? And then we’ll find out why they were prepared to override security procedures to do so.

OK, so I definitely do need another (very large) G&T due to the fact I have today nodded in agreement with Diane Abacus and Ed "hobby horse" Davey 😲

Can someone explain this. Why are we only hearing from Robbins. Where’s McSweeney. Where’s Powell. Where’s Wormald. Where’s Starmer himself. Why are we still only getting the barest levels of scrutiny.
Foreign Affairs Committee@CommonsForeign

We will be hearing from former Permanent Under-Secretary at @FCDOGovUK Sir Oliver Robbins about the vetting process for former Ambassador Lord Peter Mandelson tomorrow, Tuesday 21 April at 9am. Find out more ⬇️ committees.parliament.uk/committee/78/f…

This all only makes sense if KS was (for reasons which are becoming more and more clear) selected to fill the role of PM whilst others did the real bidding. He was and still is in many ways the perfect useful idiot. No political nous. No curiosity. No philosophy. Gullible. Weak. Parsimonious with the truth. Mandleson clearly at or near the helm. All along. The dodgy campaign, empty promises, lies, everything. The real question is who else? Any why? What is the actual endgame?

It’s quite clear from this document the Prime Minister was told this in November 2024. He didn’t want to answer my question…because HE KNEW. He was told. Yet he appointed Mandelson anyway putting our national security at risk.

@benonwine Starmer is only there because of Mandelson. It was his project all along. McSweeney. The campaign. All of it. And to pull it off M needed S to be totally compromised.

Do you think it’s possible that Peter Mandleson could be Blackmailing Prime Minister Keir Starmer?

My working assumption was that Keir Starmer will be gone before the end of May. I'm not sure he will even last that long. He could be gone in a matter of days. This is the END GAME for Keir Starmer. The worst prime minister in history.

I’m just back to London after a weekend away with my family. A busy week ahead, so now is the perfect time to go and do the big weekly shop. Thanks to politicians not understanding how family life actually works I now have precisely 20 minutes before the shop shuts. It’s not going to happen.

I think we can safely conclude that today’s broadcast round hasn’t improved what was already Starmer’s worst weekend in office 🙈

@DPJHodges @Iromg OK. Has it come to this. Is the whole Starmer Mandelson play a front for Putin and or Xi? If you look at everything Starmer has done, in the whole, it starts to look as if there were forces operating in the background. Is that what the whole M appointment to DC was about?

As we report today, he chose to appoint as his Ambassador to Washington a man who was being targeted by Russian intelligence from as far back as the 1980's. A man who was specifically warned about his relationships with Putin's allies. A man Red Flagged by the security services.

Freedom of navigation and the law of the sea must be respected. In Paris I joined @Keir_Starmer and @EmmanuelMacron, alongside over 40 allies, to develop plans to safeguard shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, secure trade, and bring down the cost of living in the UK and abroad.

I do not accept the claim that Keir Starmer is a liar. He is not. I have known him to be serious, measured, and guided by a strong sense of public duty. We must challenge one another robustly on policy, but do it in a way that strengthens public confidence not erode it
Liz Truss@trussliz

I hope the media is beginning to get it. The British system is dysfunctional. The bureaucrats are in charge and withhold information all the time. I have no sympathy for Starmer - he is an inveterate liar and he and his mates Blair and Brown created the unaccountable albatross we have today.
