Could this #stonefly , photod a few days ago (Feb) in Cornwall (Tamar Valley) be an early flying Nemurella pictetii?? #TuesdayThought (only NFRs currently showing here by Spey)

@bscgscotland This one is Siphonoperla torrentium. Chloroperla has less dark markings on the head and pronotum

@bscgscotland The mayfly is a male Baetis subimago. The stonefly looks like Chloroperla tripunctata rather then I. grammatica. The latter would have a pale longitudinal stripe on the pronotum

Many thanks again for speedy help. Can we guess this poorly photod #Mayfly (seen 8 June 2025) - with 2 tails & ? small hindwing - & also from near the Nethy (on a threatened site) was one of our 9 Baetis spp too? #TuesdayThought

@bscgscotland It’s one of the Baetis species. It has tiny hindwings at the base of the forewings.

A #Mayfly (photod 8 June on an Ash leaf) on a threatened site in Strathspey near the River Nethy. In need of a name please anyone. (Showed 2 tails, ? lacked hindwings; could P. bifidum Pale Evening Dun be a fit?) #MondayMayFly #FairerPlanning

A #stonefly in need of an id ? nemouridae 26 May on a controversially threatened site by the River Nethy in the #Cairngorms National Park (where new housing would add light pollution & be bad news for sensitive #biodiversity. )

What a season @bathgatethistle. Never dreamed back to back promotions was possible back in August. A rollercoaster of a season right to the end! Promotion, a cup semi final, and a run in the Scottish. Well done all involved 👏👏🍾🍾 Same again next year? 😜

Thanks. This at ACM today (25 Mar.) a bit high up to view but images & size seem to look ok for a (more intact) f B. putata ?

@bscgscotland @RareInverts6 Looks like the wings are damaged rather than deformed. From the images it looks like a female of Brachyptera putata
