My youngest, who is a 19-yo college freshman, is really bummed that I didn't put together an Easter basket for him. At what age is it okay for me to stop? 😂

Let’s be honest,Pete Hegseth seems to rely entirely on posturing, throwing around tough-sounding lines without any real depth behind them. There’s no intellectual weight, just empty bluster and recycled rhetoric. And frankly, it mirrors the same shallow bravado you see from the person he answers to.

Who forced Liz Cheney on you? Jesus Christ the victimization on display here. They did two campaign stops together and Cheney’s whole thing was “I disagree with Kamala’s politics and policies but Trump is too dangerous so we should support her.” Was she wrong about this?
Wajahat Ali@WajahatAli

The past 2 weeks, the same Dems who forced Liz Cheney on us, refused to have a single Palestinian speaker at the DNC, and continue going on Bill Maher's show without ever once pushing back on his racism and Islamophobia, have been OBSESSED with Hasan Piker. They realize they no longer control the majority or the party. Curious if they will adapt or try to burn it all down. I predict the latter.

I saw a guy saying, “This woman should never be allowed in a church.” Personally, I think she should be welcomed. What do you think, would she be welcome in your church?

New: President Trump issued a profanity-laced warning to Iran on Easter Sunday, warning of severe military action should Tehran fail to make a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. In a post to social media he said that Tuesday, “will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” He added: “Open the F**kin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH!” -@CNN

EXCLUSIVE: President Trump reacts to the rescue of a missing U.S. airman in the downed jet, calling it an “Easter Miracle” in a text message moments ago. "The rescue was an Easter Miracle. The enemy was large and violent. The rescuers were brilliant, strong, decisive, and as cool as anyone can be. The Iranians thought they had him, but it wasn’t even close, and remember, we got two, but couldn’t talk about the first in that it would have highlighted that there was a second. Such a rescue has never happened before in so  violent an enemy territory. It is usually not done because it is considered not doable. Such a great military - Like no other. Happy Easter! @brianhegseth @MikeLevin No, President Obama did not fire 200 generals. The claim, often cited as "197 officers," stems from a 2013-2014 compilation that incorrectly combined years of routine personnel shifts, retirement, and firings for misconduct (such as DUIs, gambling, or sexual misconduct.

The Army Chief of Staff, a combat veteran with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, asked Pete Hegseth why he was blocking the promotions of two Black officers and two female officers who had earned them. Hegseth refused to answer. Then he fired him. Nine U.S. officials told NBC News that Hegseth has blocked or delayed promotions for more than a dozen Black and female senior officers across all four branches of the military. Hegseth has now fired or sidelined more than a dozen generals and admirals. He is an out-of-control, unqualified former TV host and nobody in the Republican Party will say a word about it because they don’t want to make Trump angry. nbcnews.com/politics/natio…

Catholicism is not suddenly trendy on the right, and conservative elites and intellectuals have been disproportionately Catholic for decades. For much of that time—under JPII and Benedict, so for well over 30 years—the Vatican was seen by Catholic conservatives as an ally in their political project. Before Cardinal Ratzinger was elected pope, he gave a First Things lecture!
Christa Sydney@christasyd

Lowkey funny that the sudden rise of Catholicism being trendy amongst the American right wing coincides with the current Pope being American but the exact opposite of them and is directly and openly rebuking them.
