Pretty wild to lecture your accountant on what a big shot finance guy you are and it turns out you didn't know that depreciation is subtracted from (not added to) cost to arrive at net book value

@CrownCPA I think tax prep will be replaced by AI. But not Accountants who help clients analyze their business, make good choices, manage cash flow, sales projections, cost analysis. That, IMHO is where the real service of CPAs is, not the tax prep.

@businesskeepers What date did you pay your bill? Perhaps it was held until then. Our firm doesn't file until we're paid.

ME: I'm confused why refund for client is taking so long. CPAminion: No confusion here [seriously answered this way]. Return was filed 4/3. Takes 2-3 weeks to get refund. ME: um, return was done and authorized to efile 2/25, why wasn't it filed then? CPAminion: [crickets]

@Intuit Is there anyway to turn off the commercials within QBO? Stop trying to get me to pay more for the Plus version and hire your "expert."

@Intuit Of course there isn't. Advertising within your own software, which isn't cheap, is distracting, invasive, and takes away from the integrity of your software.

@uptonaccounting Start dropping clients, until you have a tax season that doesn't get a notice or letter.

It does mot matter what I do anymore it seems every tax return is met with some kind of notice or letter. Im so tired of this, even when I do a good job the clients think Im a screwup!

CPA firm that used to do the monthly accounting, still charging monthly fee---3 months later. Asked about it last week; they are looking into it.

What the actual what? Yes, it's from 2024 - the client is behind.

@2a4x4Accountant I personally think in this case, the CPA just doesn't care about this small client. Would rather him just be honest instead of attitude from his staff.

I am now on hold with an airline to uncorrect autocorrect for that time it autocorrected my name to Cathartic when purchasing a plane ticket. Going nowhere fast.

I'm on a chat with Google Support with business profile issue. He just asked to place the chat on hold for 2-3 minutes. This isn't a phone call man. You can just take 2-3 minutes to respond like you have been this whole time.

@Micha_Siegel It takes time but you get better at it. Be patient with yourself and don't give up. Being ambidextrous comes in handy.

I'm teaching myself to write with my left hand. I'm pretty sure they lied to us about the whole stronger hand thing....
