@yacineMTB Totally agree, Anthropic didn’t think about the price for users
English

My bet:
Fable 5 will stay in the Claude subscription plan.
GPT-5.6 Sol is nearly as good as Fable 5, for half the price.
Give it another day.

@DavidOndrej1 Why is raw model power the only thing that matters to you? Why aren’t you thinking about the price, which is several times higher, but the result is similar? I mean, just think about it
English

@bridgemindai I think they'll keep Fable 5, taking it away from Anthropic leaves only Opus 4.8, which loses to GPT 5.6 Sol. Even keeping Fable 5, they still have to compete with GPT 5.6 Sol because Fable 5 itself is very resource-hungry compared to GPT 5.6 Sol, literally 2x.
English

Fable 5 CANNOT be removed from Anthropic subscriptions.
The new Artificial Analysis Coding Index shows exactly why.
Without Fable 5, Anthropic's best subscription model is Opus 4.8. It loses to GPT 5.6.
It even loses to GPT 5.5. The OLD GPT.
At that point there is no reason to pay for Claude. None.
Fable 5 is not a perk.
It is the entire case for the subscription.

English

@rezoundous Honestly, I haven't tested GPT 5.6 Sol yet, but the limits there are definitely higher through Fable 5
English

@markproduct Bro, AI has already done this, some developers are just too shy to admit it

Honestly, in my opinion, Anthropic makes the strongest model, but at the same time, they don’t think about users in terms of $50 output—that’s really a lot. I get the AI race, but honestly, over the past few months, I’ve started preferring OpenAI models. That said, the claim that the Mythos model series can really handle very complex tasks is true, but I agree—what’s the point of such a strong model if it’s not economically viable? Like, a few prompts for fixes—sure, but as a main work tool—not really. For example, Muse Spark 1.1 is top-notch in terms of price-quality, same with GLM 5.2 and GPT 5.6 Sol, Terra, Luna—well, for most tasks, that’ll be enough. If you need maximum accuracy available right now, Anthropic models are perfect
English

Too early to tell right now but I wonder if History will look back at this $7.5-40B Anthropic/SpaceXai deal as the biggest unforced error of the AI era.
Did the management team thought XAI was too far from the frontier to be a real threat ? Otherwise why give so much money to a direct competitor?
Grok 4.5 is impressive and lands exactly where I thought it would few months ago: close to top intelligence at a fraction of the cost. Actually SOTA in quite few areas.
There is a scenario in which users move to SpaceX for most token exchange and Claude is only used for the top tasks. Meaning Anthropic massive growth would be transferred to SpaceXAI. This would seriously complicate their IPO & ability to produce SOTA after that (need compute $$$).
During that time SpaceXAI is getting their datacenters reimbursed, premium data and gets to build the space AI infrastructure with the money.

Claude’s folks know exactly what they’re doing. I’m convinced that 80% of users are in the exact same situation as me.

This is exactly what the business model of the AI Safety concept looks like where OpenAI is the bad Thank you Anthropic for extending my 0% left Fable quota for a few more days! Truly life-changing. 😭🙏
This is exactly what the "AI Safety" business model looks like. At least OpenAI is honest about being a profit machine

Anthropic's business model (briefly):
Scare everyone - Release the model - Block the model - Unblock it with 50% of the weekly limit - make people buy a subscription - make users use up all their limits by July 7 - extend it to July 12 without resetting the limit - what's next? Where is the AI Safety concept, positioning themselves as the good guys who don’t chase profit at any cost, unlike OpenAI? OpenAI never really tried to play the saints; they came in straight away as a huge business machine
