Doug Coltart explains how the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Bill No. 3 threatens the principle of “One Person, One Vote” by altering Zimbabwe’s delimitation process.

I am an atheist and an anti-theist. I do not believe in any gods, and I see no convincing evidence that any exist. Even if a god did exist, I would not see it as necessary for meaning, morality, or human progress. My worldview is centered on humanity- our ability to create meaning, build ethical systems, and improve society without appealing to divine authority. I believe humans often underestimate their own capacity for empathy, reason, and collective growth. The existence of countless, conflicting deities across cultures reinforces my skepticism. It suggests that gods are human constructs shaped by time, geography, and social needs—not evidence of a single universal creator. I am critical of religion, particularly because of its historical and ongoing role in enforcing patriarchal systems and limiting women’s autonomy. While individuals may find comfort or identity in religion, I believe its institutional power has often come at the cost of equality, freedom, and critical thinking. My stance is not just disbelief—it is an active rejection of ideologies that place unquestionable authority above human well-being and progress.

You can never please people @Jamwanda2 Mhofu posts a picture enjoying his holiday at his home then Zimbabweans make fun of him and say all manner of nasty things Had he posted a picture in the back drop of a mansion they will be up in arms again , unpleased futi But its very clear in his years close to power it is evident he is living a life without abusing his power to pamper himself in luxury. A virtue me thinks I suppose we really do not know what we want , perhaps we are just toxic. Its his home , his happy with it clearly Saka me and you where do we come in ? Hanti tine kumba kwedu ? Are we done sweeping our yards ? Wait for it......... Dunununu 😂😂😂

@Kudakwashe24246 @todo_simms Lol. I've always said there are only two reasons why people go to gym/exercise and church. Either they do it devoted because they belive in it, or they do in order to tell others that they do it. Majority of people do it for the second reason.

As 2026 dawns, and before our timelines and DMs fill up with New Year messages, I just want to pause and speak from the heart. Thank you ,truly , for the follows, the conversations, the support, the laughter, and the genuine sense of community we shared throughout 2025. What started as interactions on a screen turned, for some of us, into real-life connections and meaningful friendships. That’s something I don’t take lightly. To those I’ve met in person and those I’m yet to meet, thank you for being part of the journey. Your presence, encouragement, and engagement have made the year richer in ways numbers and metrics could never measure. As we step into 2026, I wish you good health, peace of mind, and prosperity in all its forms. May the year ahead bring growth, joy, resilience, and many moments worth remembering. Here’s to more stories, more laughter, and continuing the journey together. Happy New Year to you all. Happy New Year. @TeamFuloZim #SoulShackRadio

THE FIGHT FOR ZIMBABWE’S MEDIA SURVIVAL The recent, serious challenges facing a prominent media house in Zimbabwe are not an isolated incident. They are the clearest warning yet of a sector-wide crisis that demands urgent, collective action. I know that the instinctive reflex would be to mock and cast aspersions because of their political positions, editorial slants and commissariat activism in the newsroom. But there are more serious conversations to be had, beyond ephemeral opportunism. This situation is a symptom of a deeper, global disruption: traditional revenue models have collapsed, and the digital transition has failed to provide a sustainable replacement. While this is a worldwide phenomenon, let’s focus on our own country. The question before every stakeholder—journalists, proprietors, policymakers, and the public—is no longer if the industry must transform, but how it can survive with purpose and principle intact. UNSUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC MODELS The diagnosis is clear. Media houses are caught in a dangerous squeeze between evaporating traditional income and unreliable digital revenue. · The Digital Illusion: While platforms like Facebook, X, and YouTube are indispensable for distribution, they offer little to no meaningful revenue-sharing for news publishers in Zimbabwe. Broadcasters find YouTube's returns are "modest" and insufficient to sustain operations. The only time I remember ZBC “minting money” from YouTube was their live broadcasting of the Electoral Petition of 2018. The funds they got from Google made a lot of sense. I contend that the classic triad of advertising, subscriptions, and licensing fees—once the bedrock of media revenue—has become erratic and unreliable in an economy where it is losing the battle for priority. Technically all new commercial televisions we licensed in 2020 in President Mnangagwa’s Media Reform Programme are struggling to remain afloat. Granted TV has a long break even point, but the break even point in this case appears elusive. · The Global Context: We are not alone. The closures of giants like Reader’s Digest in the UK and Canada, and the severe downsizing at digital pioneers like BuzzFeed and Vice, prove that massive capital and good ideas are not enough. If they can fail, our local vulnerabilities are exponentially greater. MORE THAN JUST BUSINESS This is not merely a commercial challenge. A weakened media sector directly impacts our democracy, free flow of reliable and verified information and therefore society in general. · It risks creating an information vacuum where accountability falters and credible news is a luxury. · It endangers the livelihoods of journalists, many of whom already face months of unpaid salaries, leading to professional "incapacitation". We have already read and followed the $50 for Christmas mess. · The space will be ceded to purveyors of Fake News and generators or deepfakes. ADAPTATION & INNOVATION The solution requires a complete reimagining of value, audience, and product. Some local and regional innovators are already charting possible courses: 1. Rethinking the Product and Audience Relationship Success now hinges on deep audience engagement and unique value. This means moving beyond repackaging print content online. I read the article on the Zimbabwe Mail which I think was erudite. I share the link here: thezimbabwemail.com/?p=8073
