"Drivers must not cut across cyclists" In the UK, people riding a bike have priority over motorists trying to gun it and make a turn.

@DrLukeCraddock Starting salaries are generally low due to the fact that the employer pays for & provides further training on the job. Tuition fees only cover a fraction of a doctors’ training.

A reminder that today, I will be the second lowest paid staff member in the hospital as an F2 doctor. The lowest paid will be my F1 colleagues. We assess, diagnose, manage and treat patients for a bargain price of £17-£20 per hour every bank holiday.

@michaelblackcab Agree, those that give middle finger or verbal abuse take the risk of becoming victim but the person that physically assaults takes the consequence. I usually just shrug it off when someone gets verbal because in my martial arts, calmness is key.

@bwglawuk Well I never have because I know there’s a likelihood of it turning into a fight, it hasn’t got anything to do with “give anyone the right” some people will hit you for a lot less. That’s all I was saying, if you do it you better be prepared for that reaction.

@michaelblackcab Not that it is entirely relevant, I have given someone the middle finger once. But giving verbal or gestures does not give anyone the right to physically assault someone - one is an offence, the other generally isn’t.

@SloopyTexas @LevettRoblev1 @I_amMukhtar No trial took place. The defendants will have attend plea hearings with counsel to enter their plea. They pleaded guilty so the case is then listed for sentencing. Why is that so difficult to understand?

@LevettRoblev1 @bwglawuk @I_amMukhtar They were charged immediately and their trials were held in a couple days, which is nowhere close to normal and didn't give the defendants a chance to secure decent counsel or prepare a robust defense. No wonder they pled guilty.

So there was no big conspiracy, no two-tier policing. The police were just doing their investigations. Both men have been charged. You can all calm down now.

@KevinTheGerbil_ @I_amMukhtar Two wrongs don’t make a right. The fact that a police officer used excessive force on a restrained suspect does make the case less straightforward. An ex cop on this thread would of course say otherwise.

@SloopyTexas @I_amMukhtar Many pleaded guilty to the charges put to them so the case would move straight to sentencing. Don’t see how this is relevant to the thread topic.

@bwglawuk @I_amMukhtar How quickly did they charge, try, and sentence people for protesting (both in person and online) in August? How many factors were explored in Rotherham before the defendants were in front of a judge?
