@Jacob_Rees_Mogg What is the point of uniting when you’ll betray us again. You’re all too wedded to globalism - you want your cheap labour, you don’t want to do the hard things or reassert that we have strategic interests and sometimes just in time supply chains aren’t good enough.

@Nigel_Farage @GoodwinMJ If only you didn’t kick Rupert Lowe out the party. Maybe that is the price you pay for trying so hard to mug the British public into believing that you actually stand for them.

The Times have just released a new poll for the Makerfield by-election by Survation. Robert Kenyon is the only candidate who can stop Andy Burnham. This is a two horse race - nobody else comes close.

@jameschappers @RachelReevesMP I’m sick of this shit when people try and hide behind the sex ‘women being abused on the street’. This women has the power to take thousands of pounds off working people at the stroke of a pen, plunging them into poverty - spare me the ‘poor defenceless women’ routine

@AnnaClarke_____ WTF are you on about!!! So your solution is to rely on another countries situation and circumstance. We should grow as much as we can and buy from international markets to make up any difference

@PaulEmbery The liberals are incapable of changing Paul, just listen to LBC and it’s obvious they not only are indifferent to the suffering of the working class, they actively hate us. This is now a zero sum game, they win or we win. They will not accommodate any of our concerns.

I'm a lifelong football fan and longstanding labour movement activist. This sort of thing - the routine chanting of abuse by football fans towards a Labour prime minister - is something very new. I don't actually like it much - as Tony Benn said, politics should be about "issues, not personalities" - but it does serve as further proof of how much things are shifting in our country and how the anger of working-class people is growing. We need to listen to them.

@LBC Farage coming to power will be YOUR fault LBC! You wouldn’t give any ground on immigration, Brexit, etc. you and the liberals kept wanting to be smug, didn’t listen to the poor, never learnt from Brexit and you’ve delivered this country into the arms of a Thatcherite government!

@Alonso_GD ‘Misled’ …. The British public were never asked if we wanted mass migration. There is no distinction between legal, illegal or asylum migration. We care not what our ‘leaders’ put on a piece of paper, this is wrong, we are the Native American Indians and colonists are coming!

This conflation between “asylum seeker” and “illegal migrant” is a huge part of how the British public is constantly misled about immigration. An asylum seeker that is denied asylum is not an illegal migrant
Home Office@ukhomeoffice

Asylum decisions have quadrupled. The asylum backlog is now down from its peak of 175,000 to 49,000 people awaiting a decision - the lowest level since 2019. More decisions mean more asylum hotel closures and more illegal migrants removed or deported.

Collapsing immigration has seen a narrative switch - to 'alarming exodus of Brits'. In fact, the outflow - in both total and age composition - has been remarkably steady. Brits and Kiwis have long been massive wanderers. From Table 7a.

@campbellclaret WTF are you talking about, your government were one of the most corrupt in history, and only get a tenth of the scrutiny that the Tories ever have (even though they’re corrupt AF). Do you think we accept that all the old Labour cabinet are such excellent speakers they deserve £££

@King0243_PJC Immigration is cumulative. More arrived on UK beaches during the small boat crisis than soldiers on DDay. We will be a minority in our own country before the middle of this century for under 50s. The public feel it, trying to convince them using stats isn’t going to happen

This should destroy Nigel Farage’s entire political argument. Net migration has collapsed from 944,000 to around 204,000, yet voters still think it’s rising because Reform and Farage have spent years feeding Britain hysteria instead of facts. Asylum seekers are only about 9% of immigration, not the “invasion” constantly screamed about. The NHS was broken by underfunding. Housing was broken by austerity. Wages were crushed by corporate greed. Migrants were the distraction. Not the cause.

Labour lost nearly four times as many voters to the Greens as Reform. Yet all you hear about is Reform's threat to Labour. Why? Because a) the left aren't treated as legitimate political actors b) Labour's masters prefer bashing migrants to challenging wealth and power
YouGov@YouGov

YouGov's study of the 2026 local elections shows that just 46% of 2024 Labour voters who went to the polls remained loyal to the party, with more backing the Greens (22%) than Reform UK (6%) two weeks ago The Conservatives retained 55% of their 2024 voters, with 33% switching to Reform UK

@JSalisburyJones Why should tech employees pay a lower marginal tax rate than Tesco employees ?

When my shares vest, I pay income tax on them. When they sell, I pay CGT on the gain. Putting CGT up will increase the double tax I already pay on what is a core part of the remuneration package for tech employees.
Sam Bowman@s8mb

I don’t really see why anyone would want to work for or invest in a startup in Britain under these tax rates. It’s already a pretty risky proposition, employees already pay income tax and NICs when equity vests, and then nearly half of any gains after that are taxed as well?

@PeterStefanovi2 Immigration is cumulative. They’re extra, therefore public are correct. Their lives don’t revolve around yearly stats that zero out in April. When Labour shipped migrants around the country it alerted the increase to the public, which was previously confined to the major cities.
