@shawnWWrites Nah, you query agents, managers or producers the same as Lit agents or editors. But there are ~45,000 scripts registered with the WGA every year, and only a couple of hundred movies get made. They don't call it The Hope Machine for nothing.

This is the biggest question in screenwriting. Books are straightforward: write it->query it. For scripts it's write it, talk to a guy who knows a guy whose cousin once patched a leaky tire for some one in the industry. Is it deliberately like that to protect "made" writers?

@shawnWWrites Here's my take - treat the world-building as exposition and dribble it in only as necessary. Jump into the action and let the world come together around it.

Question for all you Sci-Fi writers: Every book I write gets an opening foundation then quickly turns the corner to action kicking in. Working on my 1st Sci-Fi piece. Seems it's taking a longer to turn that corner to the action ramp up. Is this normal due to world building?

When I was an infant, my dad drove from Amarillo to Lubbock to watch Donny Anderson play. I learned early on that I simply do not know enough profanity to be a Tech fan.

Ending 2025 in book limbo. Publisher sold to a company that's now "winding down" operations. Unanswered emails, websites offline, and hard copies out of stock on Amazon. I really hope '26 brings some clarity. Maybe return my rights? Guess all I can do is just keep writing.

Most of the energy powering Texas this morning is coming from wind and solar. This is not unusual, but the politicians and oil companies would have you think otherwise.

@TheJasonOffutt @JoshChavis65 The problem with that is the Dallas Cowboys haven't played in Dallas for 40 years. The NY Jets and Giants both play in Jersey. The world won't end. As a fan outside of KC, I do think it sucks as the Truman Sports Complex is home to two truly original and very cool stadiums.

Look, I understand being upset about Arrowhead, but people acting like this is the Baltimore Colts moving to Indianapolis is hilarious. The team is moving 25 minutes away. If that is enough to end your fandom, then you were never a fan in the first place.
