Framed Putin as a terrorist and killer
Listed his demands, not requests, to Trump in front of the press
Showed the press images of starved Ukrainians
Tempted Trump with the possibility of being regarded as a hero and legend for defending Ukraine and stopping Putin
Claimed that Russia will invade the Baltic and the US “will” send troops
Responds to Trumps anti war sentiment with “they invaded our territory”

80% of the questions were to Trump, with one of a few to Zelenskyy being "why dont you wear a suit?"

One of those times where you absolutely have to watch the full meeting and not just the highlights, otherwise you’ll be lost. Love him or hate him, Trump started the meeting by praising Ukraine. Before Zelensky turned to him, Vance started by saying Russia “destroyed” Ukraine. Zelensky decided to turn the meeting into a public spat. Maybe you think he was right to go on offense, but he was absolutely not ambushed.

Two things can be true at the same time. Trump was strong and did stand up for America (and himself, too). But he might have done harm in the way he did it because it split our side and cost us leverage. The two sides are choosing to see what they want to see. It's both there.

Zelensky Oval Office visit is a Rorschach test. Right sees it as a strong American President standing up for our interests and demanding we be treated with respect. Left sees it as a bully, yelling at one of our allies and doing harm to our interests. I think they're both right.

If you watch the full Trump-Zelensky press conference, it is very clear that Zelensky, not Trump or Vance, became the antagonist. Both POTUS and VP were very respectful and cordial until Zelensky very publicly ignited a firestorm. It all starts at 40:30 1) Zelensky essentially rejects how VP described the mandate of POTUS to conduct foreign affairs, and he insinuates that Trump term one did nothing to stop Putin. 2) He then basically tells Vance that his ideas are faulty and that the administration's diplomacy won't work. These two comments are *deliberately antagonistic.* Everything was all well and good, but Zelensky took two major shots in a public forum, and they had to respond. And respond they did. Recall, this is the guy who interfered in our electoral politics and called VP "too radical," and bashed Trump in an interview with New York Mag weeks before the election. Zelensky is ENTIRELY at fault here. 100%.

@philoshua @emilyjashinsky I’d say when kept saying it happened when Trump was president - first of all it started before 2016 and 2nd, why would he insist on arguing about that in public, at the White House, while begging for US to help.
Also kept saying he wouldn’t compromise with Putin. Hows that work?

I already had a low opinion of many federal workers but now that I’ve seen them all meltdown and cry because they’re expected to provide the faintest evidence that they’re actually accomplishing anything with the taxpayer funded job we’ve given them, I realize that my opinion of them was still somehow too high

One of my coworkers joined bc a parent got sick & is fully dependent on them. Another switched so they could also work part time as a middle school basketball coach.

Yea, that's definitely a tell. Granted, people are more likely to leave negative reviews on job sites since there's emotions involved and people are also using the site to find new positions.
Still, to see several hundred reviews across the two companies is concerning. Some people are ready to take on that lifestyle, and I'd hope those expectations are set during the interviewing phases.

Yep, I think this is reasonable. Judging by the folks who work at SpaceX, Tesla, and X, I'm assuming by and large, they're probably pretty happy with their jobs or else there'd be frequent and major backlash with the expectations at those places.
Lacking that, I don't think there's any reason to think Elon is somehow suggesting 60-80 hour work weeks with absolutely no balance. While he's a workaholic himself (allegedly), I'd expect he would be recommending work conditions similar to his own companies, since it's familiar to him as a CEO.
I don't think that's necessarily the right solution, but as a frame of reference, expecting a certain level of rigor within a 40-hour work week isn't foreign. But again, that's going to be really challenging if the job itself is soul-sucking because external forces aren't allowing you to get things done efficiently.

Accountability can be done with mutual respect rather than childish games on social media.

Elon wants us all to live so that our lives are our work. Not everyone should have to live that way...
