I went to Springfield’s Walmart yesterday. Haitians with carts piled 1.5X full, flowing with meats, fish, gourmet entrees, soft drinks (milk & honey?). Young, working age. Meanwhile old underclass whites with a basket of 2, 3, 5 items. Starkest contrast. I couldn’t believe it.

@ClickingSeason When i started traveling extensively in the South 12 years ago i was shocked at how many more blacks there were there compared to the North, and how much more integrated it was. It's one thing to have a vague idea about demographic data, but to see it firsthand is something else.

Northerners fantasies about how southerners behave is integral to their world model but is totally divorced from reality.

@scarletkate @atrupar The problem isn’t ID. It’s that you need a birth certificate to prove citizenship. If you have changed your name from your original, as many married women have, you need proof that you are who your birth certificate shows. It’s an attempt to disenfranchise many voters.

Is there something I am missing here? First of all, no one needs ID to get into a restaurant. That's ridiculous. Secondly, Canadian here - I have to show my driver's license or some other form of idea when I show up to vote. I can't imagine it is any different in the US. If it isn't, please fill me in.
