@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Can’t wait to hear the news when Ohtani retires and moves out of CA to avoid that cluster fuck of a state and all its bs taxes. Guarantee you ohtani moves out when he retires. NO one wants to voluntarily live in and play for LA it’s a dumpster fire
English

@c_obrien_17 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Keep waiting cuz I promise the best organizations, including the dodgers, will continue to be the best bc you have 0 idea what all these orgs do to compete year in and out, Im sure your broke ass thinks money fixes everything but time will show this did nothing but depress wages
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan also about your LA point yeah it’s an atrocious city to live in you guys riot every other day, you live in a garbage state, your state income and property taxes are absurd, and I’m sure as hell happy living in Philly and with my vacation house at the Jersey shore
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Just admit you enjoy being a fan of a team that spends more money than anyone else n stop pretending like the reason you guys have won last 2 years wasnt because of the money. NO one likes the dodgers bro and you’re autistic if you think players will chose them instead of the bag
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan But you see I’m aware of how good this rule will be for the league. And all this dumb loyalty and pay cuts your talking about sound pretty dumb when your all star SS Trea Turner took the bag with us instead of staying in LA
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Holy cow your dumb. It did not suppress wages because there will now be significantly more money in the FA market. Second, the last time a “cheap” spender did anything special with a small market team was the Royals. Also I’m a Phillies fan dude. My team is a huge spender too
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan I’m sure all these MLB players that hate the dodgers would just love to take a pay cut and willingly neglect more money to support their families to help make the dodgers better!!! I’m arguing with an absolute moron god I can’t wait for this cap to kick in and humble all you
English

@c_obrien_17 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Your cognitive dissonance is astounding and I wish I could live life like you man, just so completely lost in your own bias that you can't make a salient argument.
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan And I just really get a kick of how you got this idea that all of these great players are gonna chose your awful city over a better pay day. That never happens in this sport so idk where you’re getting that now. Not to mention most of the league already hates the dodgers
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan And to make your argument sound even worse, the only notable player on your roster that came up through your farm is Will smith. Everyone else was bought, some were traded for (usually with the condition of an extension)
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Your entire argument is based on 2 points: players will take pay cuts to play for the dodgers and the other is you don’t have to spend boat loads to win. Well I’ll put it out there the dodgers spend more than almost every team and went back to back
English

@Ryon_Reyne @JoshChavis65 @samlightner11 The cap/floor proposal would actually benefit about 99% of players in the league, so idk what you’re even defending anymore. The cap will simply prevent teams from buying championships. The floor will force SO MUCH more money into free agency than before the cap. This is so dumb
English

@JoshChavis65 @samlightner11 People are simply too used to the various Major Sport PA’s bending over for their Owners. The MLBPA is the most powerful PA of any Major Sport and they are 100% committed to this. A Cap simply isn’t happening because the Owners will blink first
English
Conor O’Brien retweetledi

Already seeing media members come out saying this MLB salary cap is just a ploy for the owners to make more money, and it's clear they haven't read any of the details.
This deal would effectively spread a greater amount of money among the players, and prevent teams from buying championships annually.
Parity equals popularity. Just ask the NFL.
More popularity means more collective money.
This is basic economics, and every other sport in America has it figured out.
MLBPA can kick rocks with this one.
English

@TurkStevens @JoshChavis65 You’re either incapacitated or you didn’t read the proposal. There is a salary floor. Wow people just post anything
English

@JoshChavis65 Then why has baseball been so popular for 150 years without a cap? Why is it that the crybaby fans are all from small markets with cheapo owners who just pocket their revenue sharing already? You want parity, then force the cheap owners to pay up
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Now keep in mind there are teams out there with a 70m payroll who can afford to spend way more than other teams, there’s about 13 teams under the FLOOR, these will be the teams who can afford to pay the money that the great players are looking for not the Dodgers. Wow your dumb
English

@c_obrien_17 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Less money and it actually makes money less of a deciding factor cuz if all the big contracts are out and you're left with $20 mil.to play for the dodgers or pirates, you're picking the better org
Does that seriously not make sense? You can't be this dense
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan Be a team that can offer more. That’s exactly what you can’t get into your hamster wheel brain. Go ahead, sign these great players post cap, keep in mind you just paid tucker 60m/y, their agents are gonna want the same or more. Then guess what your money is gone no more players
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan THE DODGERS ARE GONNA GRANDFATHER A PAY ROLL 2X THE CAP. They aren’t going to be able to spend until they clear space. In your perfect word you’re acting like all 30 teams are gonna have the exact same cap room left each year. Also, your example is unrealistic there will always
English

@TommyKelly44 Tom cmon man. Today’s show stinks. Howie is the most reputable GM in the league and he won’t trade AJ for a bag of rocks, end of story. If he doesn’t get what he wants then AJ stays an eagle. There’s been much worse situations with the player still returning (Myles Garrett)
English

@Yhlqmdlg2016 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan I mean seriously dude this is probably the worst take I’ve ever seen. I knew dodger fan were challenged but wow your next level. If players were willing to take pay cuts for an organization, Bichette would be a blue jay, Bregman would be a red sock, I could go on your so dumb
English

@c_obrien_17 @J_Bell38 @TheCaliGoober @JesseRogersESPN @JeffPassan You're making an argument based on a false premise.... The dodgers will have LESS money to sign big names, but big names will take less money to play with the dodgers bc they have the best org... Really not a hard concept to grasp, I'm sorry thinking is hard for you
English

@SasakiTruther @IndianaHoss @brianros1 The only players it would actually hurt would prob be around 1% of the entire league, the rest of the players will benefit from it. And the players association is in charge of giving the green light. Go sit in the corner and use your hamster wheel brain and it might make sense
English

Absolutely absurd. The owners are threatening to ruin the sport. Congress should yank their anti-trust exemption if they lock players out over this nonsense.
Bob Nightengale@BNightengale
The MLB salary cap proposal is at $245.3 million, meaning that 8 clubs would have to reduce payroll by a combined $578 million: The Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, Blue Jays, Phillies, Red Sox, Padres and Atlanta.
