Tariffs bad, free trade good. Borders should be monitored & fluid. Housing, food, healthcare, & raw materials must be abundant & accessible. The courts should be uncorrupted & de-politicized. Social safety-nets are great. Corporate Socialism is bad. Cities should be clean, 1/2

@jmaxmann @ChrisMurphyCT @BillMelugin_ Those RW accounts are mostly bots and seeking engagement. One of their ring leaders made the call and they all followed .. he was clearly being sarcastic lol. Btw, on Reddit people use “/s” at the end of a statement to mark it as sarcastic. It would save people a lot of pain

@ChrisMurphyCT @BillMelugin_ It says a lot about you and your record that the vast majority of people did not consider it sarcasm… and I’m sure many will continue to NOT believe it was sarcasm.

Ok Twitter, I can’t believe I need to clarify this but obviously Trump’s bungled mismanagement of this war is not “awesome”. As I have said a million times here, it’s a disaster and he should end the war immediately. My tweet was something called “sarcasm”.

@haugejostein Shanghai is incredibly boring. It’s devoid of culture, no art or cultural institutions worth visiting, the metro stops are all a km+ apart, and there is just nothing to do.

On my first trip to Atlanta - I spent about a week to help a relative move - I witnessed fights almost break out between customers and employees like 6 times lol. Also, everyone has road rage. One of my Uber drivers got out the car to confront someone during a I-85 standstill
g.@GeauxGabrielle

Between this and Keith Lee saying he wont ever to back to Atlanta because of how the restaurants treated him and his family, it’s something in the water out in Atlanta

NJ Transit wants to charge $150 to get to the World Cup. But there's a better way. A ferry at 125th Street would be an affordable option and create access for West Harlem that would last far beyond the World Cup. Launch the boats!

@Guzchillwill @CJGriffinEsq NJ is not getting any money from the World Cup matches. All the extra tourism and economic activity is going to NYC, not NJ. NJ is responsible for hosting, security, and transportation. Murphy is an idiot for not forcing NYC to give a % of the tourism taxes

FIFA chose to stick the cost to their fans (so they can keep paying their execs millions a year?) Oh well, at least NJ taxpayers aren't on the hook for the costs of transporting NYC's tourists to and from a game Glad NJ isn't being a sucker like all the other cities!

Round trip train tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup games at MetLife stadium will cost $150 per ticket, NJ Transit and FIFA officials announced today. Only 40,000 tickets will be sold and they must be purchased in advance. The original cost of $62 million, for NJ Transit, was offset by a $10.7 million federal grant and a $3.6 million grant from the NYNJ Host Committee, officials added.

@wakeupnj @unusual_whales All of these other cities are benefiting from a tax windfall from the matches. New Jersey is literally just hosting the games but solely responsible for transit, logistics, and security. NYC is getting all the economic stimulus. Sherrill has the right to be pissed at Murphy.

New Jersey Transit confirmed on Friday that World Cup match goers will be charged $150 for a return rail trip from New York's Penn Station to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey this summer. Tickets are ordinarily priced at $12.90.

@unusual_whales The Democrats running my state are nuts to charge $150 Bucks for a $12.90 ticket, but other states aren't Gouging at all x.com/i/status/20452…

A Citi Bike ride shouldn’t cost a penny more than a subway or bus ride. We’ve got a bill to cap e-bike fees at $3 and end Citi Bike-flation.

@GovSherrillNJ Ask the Legislature to move windfall tax rev from Sales & Tourism to NJ Transit. Murphy dropped the ball and FIFA isn’t going to pay shit. The most logical thing to do was to sell “Transportation Passes” alongside tickets

To Recap: Our Administration inherited an agreement where FIFA contributes $0 toward transportation for the World Cup – while also eliminating parking at MetLife Stadium. Except for premium parking, where FIFA is charging over $200 per spot. As a result, NJ TRANSIT must carry four times the usual ridership for events at the venue, at a cost of $48 million. New Jerseyans shouldn’t be stuck with that bill while FIFA makes $11 billion in profits.

@DanielShustock @terrencemcd It’s a normal sports match at MetLife Stadium. They host dozens a year. All of these fans are most likely staying in NYC hotels and spending money there. You cannot compare the World Cup logistics to the Super Bowl lol.

@terrencemcd This falls on Phil Murphy entirely, with whatever agreement he signed off on. NJ is not getting much economic benefit from the game but needs to shoulder the cost on transportation and security. I say charge fans full freight unless we get money from the Feds or FIFA.

@DanielShustock @terrencemcd FIFA has egregious logistical & security needs, so it is not a typical event at Metlife. NJ Transit needs to overspend to service the World Cup and NJ isn’t getting much economic activity from the games.

@terrencemcd It’s up to the municipality to make sure they have the proper infrastructure in place for large events! The Mets and Yankees don’t pay the MTA! The NFL doesn’t in fact no one does!

@jessicafarrelly @GovSherrillNJ “It is the customers job, just don’t price gouge train tickets you toolbox.” Alright, nobody should complain when transport costs come out to ~$100/fan. FIFA has very high security and logistical requirements that NJ Transit is responsible for. NJ is not really benefiting here

We inherited an agreement where FIFA is providing $0 for transportation to the World Cup. And while NJ TRANSIT is stuck with a $48 million bill to safely get fans to and from games, FIFA is making $11 billion. I’m not going to stick New Jersey commuters with that tab for years to come. FIFA should pay for the rides. But if they don’t – I’m not going to let New Jersey get taken for one.
