Republicans get *tons* of stuff wrong. Tons. But they tend to govern better because they get the basics right.
Most smart policy people are Democrats, but because Democrats get so many fundamental aspects of governance wrong, they're fighting a wicked uphill battle.

@vivian39_ That’s not really how it’s works since it gives them less infrastructure to work with. It also makes driving harder during winter and other times when weather is bad. Not to mention families with young children who use cars as lockers for things like diaper bags.

There's literally fourteen other ideas on the page, but okay. Also- I think it's pretty absurd that businesses will get so worked up about things like the tipped wage increase but not about what's driving far more restaurants out of business- INSANE rent. Maybe this isn't the perfect solution but we have to think about rent costs.

I have a piece @TheArgumentMag on why the US is so much better at immigration than Europe. As someone who's lived in and studied both, I've been thinking about it a lot. Anyone who opines on migration on either side would benefit from acknowledging the complete US superiority.
