I have no doubt AI will improve productivity, but it won’t be a change of everything we know about SW. The demand for software is elastic and improvements in productivity will raise the complexity level of software we build and require more powerful ways of automating reasoning.

Programming with AI assistance is like programming with a BETTER compiler. CEOs and VCs who pay for programmers but don’t use the tools themselves are too easily impressed by a machine producing code from a high-level description.
