@notistotny @north0fnorth The B79 going from Amherst to Worcester requires app payment instead of a free fare or cash on board so there's a tortured argument that you can't just waltz on without pre-registration but you can go north of the Quabbin via Orange/Athol and Fitchburg's MART. It's slow but works

arguably the best statewide public transit system besides maybe massachusetts which is wild considering how the pop culture image of the state is essentially it being one giant suburb

@notistotny @north0fnorth I guess I don't know enough about the ferries to disqualify accessing those islands either but the point is there is a serious bus network if you have time on your hands. How useful is that? Depends on the need

@notistotny @north0fnorth That's not correct anymore. The RTAs now have no-prereservation-required transit across every county except Dukes (Gosnold & Martha's Vineyard) and Nantucket (Nantucket). As of this year you can catch local buses to Berkshire County from Northampton and Greenfield.
