Konstantin Kisin made a point that cuts to the heart of one of the most forbidden conversations in the West today. He argued that much of our current cultural tension stems from an unspoken assumption: that all groups of people are not just equal in dignity and rights, but essentially the same in their aptitudes and outcomes. When reality shows persistent group differences — whether in sports, professions, or other fields — we’re left scrambling for explanations that avoid cultural or, God forbid, genetic factors. Kisin referenced Thomas Sowell’s observation that different groups naturally excel in different areas: Germans dominating global brewing (including China’s Tsingtao), Latinos overrepresented in baseball, white people in hockey, Black people in the NBA. These patterns, he says, are the normal human condition, not evidence of systemic failure. The problem arises, he suggests, when a society insists that any deviation from perfect uniformity must be explained by oppression or discrimination, rather than accepting that people and groups simply differ in strengths and interests. It’s a provocative take on why honest discussion about group differences has become so difficult. What do you think — are group differences in outcomes mostly cultural and environmental, or do we need to be more open to the possibility that biology and natural aptitudes also play a role?

@ianbremmer Right, but the “wars in the Middle East” he was talking about involved 250,000 deployed troops and lasted 20 years. Iran isn’t even in the same ballpark.

one of the most widely supported trump positions—among american voters and globally—has been getting the united states out of wars in the middle east.

@Noahpinion The worst part is the gaslighting from purportedly mainstream left politicians and pundits.. You wanna defend this change? Fair play. But don’t pretend there hasn’t even been a change.

The transformation of liberals into "progressives" since 2013 has seriously been the worst thing to happen to American culture in my lifetime. Just absolutely gutted so much of what was good about this country. End of a golden age.

Welcome to the Republic of Somaliland, the only democratic nation in the Horn of Africa, where untouched beaches meet ancient caves, and every breeze carries the scent of history and hospitality. 🌊🏝️ A place where the coastline whispers stories, the land feels alive, and the people welcome you like family.

@HistoryBoomer Not sure how your feed looks….but no serious, knowledgeable critic of Islam is saying that all Muslims are horrible people. This isn’t what Yasmine Muhammad, Gad Saad, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, or any other rational person is saying.

Nothing gives me ulcers more than Twitter anons screaming at me for not sharing their black-and-white worldview that Muslims are all fanatics loyal to an "explicitly violent ideology." My actual views are kinda nuanced, and religious extremists of every stripe make me nervous.
Culpability Jones@ShineboxHukster

@HistoryBoomer Nothing gives cover to an explicitly violent ideology more than an affluent liberal westerner atoning for the crimes of history by treating all cultures as equal while warning everyone at the same time of the looming threat of white Christian nationalism.

@HistoryBoomer A bit of a straw man, as even Gad Saad strongly agrees that most individual Muslims are very nice people. Intelligent critics are discussing ideology, not friendly Yemeni bodega owners..

Twitter: "Muslims believe in a hateful ideology that demands death to infidels. Every Muslim in America is a sleeper agent ready to be activated for terror." Me at my Yemeni bodega. "Dr Pepper and a pack of plantains." "Buttered bagel?" "Nah, not today." "Four dollars, buddy."

@HistoryBoomer @nemesis_online @neontaster They are certainly worthwhile questions, although millions of pages of scholarship have already been written since WW2 pretty much turning over and examining every psychological stone hundreds of times. We don’t need to contextualize terror.

@James_West_PhD @HistoryBoomer The left truly believes that everyone in the world wants the exact same things, that culture and ideology are these superficial veneers that fall away as soon as someone gets a warm bed and a hot meal. They’re completely delusional.

I think the problem with this - and the problem with the left in general is - that they fundamentally can't understand that people having reasons doesn't stop them from being evil, our enemy, and/or deserving of death. I -personally- think Osama Bin Laden was an entirely rational person; he had a set of goals, and was particularly effective in using assymetric warfare to move towards them. We still needed to kill him.

@HistoryBoomer The question isn’t why he did this-that’s fairly obvious, as we had three jihadi attacks in one week- but rather why not one Jewish person in the US out of a population of 7.5 million has perpetrated a similar crime against Muslims. That’s the mystery.

@the_transit_guy @vivas619 @MaxRovensky Coastal towns did look somewhat like this a century ago, with veins of trains that hit almost every small town in the country. But, we doubled down on automobiles and personal autonomy and pretty much destroyed that model.

@HistoryBoomer @ObiJuanBonJovi The Iranians no longer have the finances to fund their proxies and truly threaten their neighbors. From that perspective, we’ve already achieved victory. At this point, make it as easy as possible for the Iranian people to overthrow the regime.

What exactly does victory against Iran look like? We’ve already removed their leadership, and they just replaced it with more leadership. Do we keep doing that until we finally get leaders who we like? What if that doesn’t happen for quite a while? When does it end?

Following our righteous action in Iran, the risk of a retaliatory terrorist attack is heightened. Chuck Schumer must allow us to fund the Department of Homeland Security to keep Americans safe. TSA needs to be funded and paid so we don’t have another hijacking event like 9/11.

“Hey, bitch, the goyim are waking the fuck up. Deal with it.” Not acceptable. Of course, you can criticize Israel, harshly. The problem with using “goyim,” is you turn it into a Jews vs non-Jews issue, and that can quickly become antisemitism. Israel is not all Jews, and many non-Jews support it. Also, “waking up” has hints of conspiratorial thinking. (“The Jews have been pulling the wool over our eyes, etc.”) Not good stuff.
Ana Kasparian@AnaKasparian

I do not regret this comment. I don't apologize. Israel is evil, genocidal and has destroyed our country. They're about to drag us into another war and all we hear from Israelis and their braindead supporters is "ANTISEMITE" if you disagree with Israel's agenda. They smear you to silence you and all the Jewish individuals who don't subscribe to their disgusting behavior. Israel loves to play victim as they bomb 7 countries, steal land and openly air their genocidal intentions. THEY are the immoral ones. It is a stain on our country that we consider them allies. Many have woken up to this reality. Call me whatever you want. The truth matters and I'll never apologize for repeating it.
