I built a $1M+ product as a solo software engineer. No team. No VC. Just code, conviction, and late nights. Now it’s a standalone SaaS and I’m selling it. Here’s how I did it (and how you can too): 🧵👇

@RobHoffman_ Right now, it’s Taxiger. I started with digitization. But I ended up building something that restores trust between drivers, fleets, and operations in Brussels. I think in industries, it is more tangible. Just pov

@cactuskoding much better!! What problem are you trying to solve, or have you not figured it out yet? do you have a benchmark for how many people you want to impact at a minimum?

I am OBSESSED with living an exceptional life example: I spend every month in a different city/country but i'm constantly trying to define what an "exceptional life" means I'd like to crowdsource opinions what does an "exceptional life" mean to you?

@RobHoffman_ Solve a real problem that helps people. My reference: Uber. Today, millions rely on it to earn and live. That’s exceptional.

what specific actions and/or habits are you taking to achieve that goal, and how do you define that? I'm trying to find unique answers unique = exceptional if you're trying to achieve the same thing as everyone else and doing the same actions, by definition it's not exceptional!

Flying to Cairo tomorrow What should I do there except the grand museum and pyramids? I’d like to see specialty coffee places where builders hang out and get the modern Cairo vibe

@cursor_ai Well done, guys. The value you’ve added here now makes me understand why you were launching my projects in your internal browser (I used to find this annoying. sorry). It’s time to build there. And if it’s really that good… goodbye Lovable & co for fast MVPs.

You can now design directly in your codebase. Select elements, modify them visually, and Cursor writes the code.

@marclou most people just dont understand that action creates information. And often it doesnt really matter what's the action. No need to spend all your life trying to come up with the best idea possible. Just get into the arena and start making things, even silly things, as a start

Every good app idea follows 3 rules: 1: it solves a painful problem 2: it has viral content potential 3: there’s proof people want it It’s simple. Don’t overcomplicate it bro.

The key if you want to work on 13 different products.
Sylvain@sylvnco

@_baretto I think it really depends of the amount of maintenance each project require. If they are pretty passive 13 is fine if its the opposite 1 is better

Be careful who you take advice from on this platform. Many have hidden agendas. Giving free advice that appears sound but is actually fallacy.

People misunderstand this game. Indie building = only 2 things: product and distribution. Marc has both. And by the way distribution is NOT just having an audience on X.
Keter Slater@keter_slater

@marclou @marclou honest unpopular opinion, your edge is not your products - it's your reach-out and exposure

Why do people lose motivation so easily? Sure, Marc has better distribution. That’s true. But he just proved the idea has value. So become his competitor. One of your advantages over him: he’s building Datafast. You have the space to go all-in. Lock in. Ship fast.
AGIdevice@agidevice

@marclou dude when i thought of this - my only friction point was distribution and equally monetization - now that the dust has settled - what lessons should i take? aside from we both got good ears to pain points on x
