@CinemaTweets1 Notice they chose someone that looks exactly like Denzel for the lead. No white lead? No Asian woman?

@Dr_Bekka_UK @PlayStation Remember buying a consoles and games cartridges? Or CDs? You just owned it all. No outside agency. Fk needing internet to play games.
English

So, @PlayStation is basically unusable for me now. The UK Online Safety Act means I have to hand over a face scan or government ID just to use basic features. My PAYG mobile isn't accepted, and I’m not giving biometrics to a company with a history of massive data breaches. #Ps5

@putemupcdukes movd it forward for who? Tour players and their bank balances?

Is it a failure if the PGA is paying more now because they finally value their talent? Is it a failure if, more golfers benefit from his sacrifice of putting his career on the line? BTW he already had tens of millions of dollars.
He had the courage to take the chance to change the system. Heo did, regardless if LIV is going bye bye. The ABA helped the NBA, The AFL helped the NFL . He helped Golf by calling out the PGA.
But that ...is not failure. He moved the sport forward.
John Nucci@JNucci23
Can’t help but think about what LIV did to Phil’s legacy. He was universally loved by golf fans. A sure fire Ryder Cup Captain. A lock for a broadcasting career making tens of millions of dollars. Instead, he’ll be (mostly) remembered for LIV and its failure.

@Glinner People are struggling financially….so they become racist? Wouldn’t it just make them hate politicians? Such an odd - and blatantly political - answer.

Q. What is the ugliest iron ever made?
They were called the Cleveland VAS irons. And they were designed by Roger Cleveland.
(Yeah, one of the most influential club designers ever.)
Cleveland tried to fix mishits in the early 90’s.
Golfers said they were too ugly.
Now we call the same ideas ‘breakthrough technology’ and pay $2,000 for it.
* Corey Pavin won the U.S. Open in 1995 using these.

Genetic studies reveal a haunting truth: when Vikings settled Iceland, nearly half the female ancestry was Irish. That’s not poetic, it’s the legacy of slavery.
Let’s talk about something that rarely makes it into the Viking fanfare: the women who were taken. When we picture Vikings, we think longships, raids, and rugged warriors. But behind that image is a brutal reality, especially for Ireland. From the late 8th century onward, Norse raiders repeatedly struck Irish coasts, not just for treasure, but for people. And the most “valuable” captives? Women.
These women were taken as thralls, the Norse word for slaves. Some were sold, others kept. Many were transported across the sea, eventually ending up in places like Iceland, which was colonized by Norse settlers in the late 9th century. But here’s the twist: modern DNA studies show that while Iceland’s male ancestry is overwhelmingly Norse, the female ancestry is about 50% Gaelic, mostly Irish and Scottish.
That means the women who helped build Iceland’s population weren’t Norse wives, they were captives. Enslaved. Displaced. And yet, they became mothers, workers, cultural carriers. Their mitochondrial DNA, passed from mother to child, still echoes through Iceland’s population today.
It’s a sobering reminder that colonization isn’t just about conquest. It’s about who gets taken, who gets silenced, and who gets woven into the story without ever being named. The sagas may glorify Norse heroes, but the genetic record tells a quieter truth: Irish women helped build Iceland, not by choice, but by survival.
So next time someone romanticizes the Viking age, remember the women whose strength shaped a nation, without ever being asked.

People don't realize how absurd this view actually is.
A camera. On a robot. On Mars.
Built by humans on a planet 140 million miles away, launched on a rocket, landed using a sky crane, and now driving across an alien desert taking pictures so detailed you can count the rocks.
100 years ago, your great-grandparents thought airplanes were a miracle.
You are scrolling past Mars on your phone.

Justin Rose lost 2.26 strokes ball-striking and 4.83 strokes tee-to-green today.
That's his second worst ball-striking and worst tee-to-green round of his year.

@LinksGems @machgolf Played Machrihanish and The Dunes last week; just an utterly magical place. I actually enjoyed the fact the wind was vicious for both days. Ironically, we played the 9 hole Pans course late on the Monday night and it was so quiet I could whisper across the fairway to my partner.
English

After rounds at Prestwick and Turnberry, we left the Ayrshire Coast and drove the 185 miles around the Firth of Clyde to Machrihanish.
A note about the drive: although it’s long, it is absolutely stunning, especially the highland areas around Loch Long and Loch Lomond, along the shoulder of Loch Fyne, and down the Kintyre Peninsula. It’s like the Scottish version of the Pacific Coast Highway, and I found myself often wishing we’d rented an air-cooled 911 for some extra fun.
And even if the drive was through a barren, boring desert, it would be worth it, because Machrihanish is absolutely sublime.
The rugged links starts out with perhaps the finest opening hole in the world, with a tee shot straight over the waves and the beach to a rumpled fairway guarded on the far side by four expertly placed and well hidden bunkers and ends with a green that can only be described as a masterpiece.
The rest of the front nine is no let down, and delivers hole after hole of world-class quality (my favorites include the 3rd, 5th and bunkerless 7th. The back nine, perhaps overshadowed by the relentlessly perfect front, nevertheless delivers as well. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the setting is magnificent and the sunsets are out of this world.
Someone said to me this week that if you took the front nine at Machrihanish and the back nine at North Berwick, you’d have the greatest 18 holes of golf in the world. I wouldn’t argue the point.
As it stands, Machrihanish is one of those truly special places in the golf world. I’m proud to be a member and can’t wait to visit again soon. #LinksGemsScotland🏴

Rosa DeLauro is 83 years old and is one of the longest-serving Democrats in the House of Representatives. She has represented Connecticut’s 3rd Congressional District since 1991. So why, with all of her experience, would she show up to a hearing so woefully unprepared?

This sick Pennsylvania mom Lisa Snyder, 41, allegedly fucked her pit bull, then brutally killed her own little kids by hanging them with a dog leash.
Snyder denies it all and claims her bullied 8-year-old son Conner killed himself and took his 4-year-old sister Brinley with him because he “didn’t want to die alone.” What a disgusting lie.
Court evidence showed she searched “How to hang yourself” and the show “Almost Got Away With It” days before. The kids were found hanging in the basement and later taken off life support.
This monster deserves to rot in prison forever. No mercy.

@MyGolfSpy I tee it up, but as low as possible. That example on the left is a fairway wood tee height

Do you tee up the ball on a par-3?
We know that using a tee for a driver can impact performance.
But…can it impact performance with an iron as well?

@RickShielsPGA These look great. Game improvers? If they’re under £999 they’ll do well.

@Dr_DewSweep Disaster? He won at Torrey Pines shortly after the switch...they've been worse equipment switches.

@RickShielsPGA Played @MachDunes in 30mph wind last week off the whites. Holy hell. Felt beaten up after. Beautiful but incredibly tough track - many blind shots, penal rough and undulating greens. Had a smile on my face the whole way round though.
