@slfriedrich @TreeJeanni75914 @MrPitbull07 am not blaming anyone, my kids had no problem keeping up the work. Our school district worked with parents, maybe because we live in a agricultural area. My point being not all families can take vacation during summer or Christmas break.

@caffeinechick @TreeJeanni75914 @MrPitbull07 Not sure what state you live in, but most kids get a 5 day Thanksgiving break, a few weeks at Christmas & a few more for spring break. Your husband's job is just as important as truck drivers, nurses, etc. Pull your kids from school, but don't blame schools when they fall behind.

Fast forward: we get back, and my son comes home with a mountain of worksheets. No explanation. No instruction. Just, “Here. Figure it out.” So he spends hours working through it over the next week. And I’m looking at this stuff thinking… what the hell is this?? Keep in mind, I’m college-educated and run multiple successful businesses. And I can’t even make sense of it. Questions like: “Sam has 155 clams. Richard gives him 137 peaches. If the cows moo while facing north, how many snow cones does he have?” What are they even learning in there? Then — a week later — his teacher messages us: “He got almost all the answers wrong. He’s now failing English.” So we reach out. Ask if he can redo the assignments. Not just for a better grade… but so he can actually learn the material. Her response? “No. He can’t redo it.” We try to work with her. Offer to compromise. Her answer? “Maybe you shouldn’t go on vacation.” I’m done, dude. Our kids are in ELEMENTARY school. And this is already the circus we’re dealing with. I don’t want to homeschool. I never thought I’d even consider it. But the way this system is run? It’s starting to look like the better option. So here’s my honest question: What are we supposed to do? @TreeJeanni75914 @MrPitbull07 Are you being serious? My husband works in ag and in summer he works 16 hr days to FEED you. No vacation for him so yes we pulled our kids out during the year as they are not earning an income 🤦🏻‍♀️. Our education system is needs a HUGE overall, now get off your high horse..

@MrPitbull07 Or here's an idea... Don't take your kids out of school for a vacation during the school year. Duh. You're asking the teacher to do double work to accommodate your vacation plans. Teachers are overworked as it is.

I just finished shoveling my driveway. Took me 90 minutes. My back is killing me, and I have to drive to work now. My neighbor has a snowblower. He did his driveway in 10 minutes, then offered to do mine. I told him no thanks, I like the exercise. Real reason? If he does my driveway once, I owe him. Next thing you know, he's asking me to "take a quick look" at his computer because "it's running slow." I don't do free IT work. Not for family, not for neighbors, not for anyone. Last year, this same neighbor asked me to help him set up his printer. I told him I'm a "network architect" and I don't work with consumer hardware. He looked confused. I said, "It's like asking a heart surgeon to check your kid's scraped knee. Different skill set." He hasn't asked me for tech help since. So yeah, I'll shovel my own driveway. A sore back is temporary. Becoming the neighborhood Help Desk is forever. Boundaries aren't rude. They're strategic.

Hey y’all, my name is Eric! I’m 47 y/o, 370lbs. I’ve been lifting for 40 days now. Currently running the Starting Strength NLP. Today I deadlifted 245lbs. I’ve been working hard on my form. Making sure to “catch water” with my back instead of rounding. My grip is getting better each workout. Being severely obese has its limitations but I’m not using that as an excuse, gotta get better! 😤💪🏻🔥

I need dad advice..my girls lost their dad this year and they say they miss his advice. He was a car guy and pretty handy around house…so any advice is appreciated! He taught them lefty losey, righty tighty, they always remembered that!! Any advice?

Crazy to think, my dad and I are both grieving. My 94 yr old dad is mourning my mom (his wife) and I am mourning my Rob. I am the baby of the family. How is that we are both grieving at different stages of life? I need my dad and he needs his daughter, it is hard.

I don't even have my husband's urn yet but thanks to our gossip neighbor, the vultures are circling. "Let me know if you want to sell this place" " what are you going to do with Brad's boat?" And " are you keeping all 3 vehicles" I want these people go away. Brad's boat is getting repossessed. What am I going to do with it all by myself? My vehicles and my home is for my family. I wanna build trump's wall around my property and electrify it.
