Every new chapter needs clarity in order to bloom. Clarity can be extremely useful. We are better able to see the path we’re taking, our intentions, and even those who surround us. Chances are there are leftover hanging around. Frayed edges. How can we sharpen our senses to know — or better yet, to feel — who harm us and those who lift us up? Some people simply don’t fit into our lives anymore. And it’s okay. Let them go. This requires as much courage as it does some loosening. Not forcing any longer. The universe has a tricky way of showing us all the signs when something is misaligned. Sometimes we notice it. More often that not, we miss it. When we do notice, understanding how we feel is incredibly important. This is how we begin to sharpen our antennae — to protect ourselves and stay aligned. May this new season bring you all the courage and looseness needed to cut the loose threads. To attain clarity. Clarity can change everything. Every decision. Every step forward. Every destination. If we let it. Happy new year ✨

Choosing what to document is paramount. As I see it, sharing about the topics we’re truly passionate is the key. It doesn’t even have to be one thing, but that mixture that makes us, us.

Been following Yukio Akamine online for 20 years. During this time, the world saw Myspace and Facebook get overtaken by blogging platforms such as WordPress and Tumblr, which in turn were overtaken by social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter.
All this while, Akamine posts photos of himself in his outfits, his style never changing. Always the same clothes cut from the same fabrics and made in the same silhouettes, combined in the same ways. Sometimes he "messes up," such as when he posts the same photo of himself with his stylish friends multiple times on Instagram. Or when the image is off-center.
On the eve of an AI technological revolution, he posts yet another image of himself in a winter outfit: a heavy tweed double-breasted overcoat worn over a three-piece gray flannel suit, white shirt, and striped tie. The image was accidentally recorded as a video, but he posted it anyway. This man, totally unmoved by technology, continues to do what makes him happy.
