Escalating violence in the north of #Gaza has blocked humanitarian missions from reaching people with food and medical supplies. Meanwhile, health care continues to be attacked. We ask Israel to give @WHO and our partners access to the north so we can reach those who desperately need aid. Under international humanitarian law, all actors have a duty to ensure health care is protected, and not attacked.

It’s estimated that universal high-quality midwifery care in all countries could save up to 4.3 million lives annually by 2035. To make this a reality, @WHO launched the Global Position Paper outlining how countries can transition to sustainable midwifery models of care, where midwives are the main providers for women and newborns from before pregnancy through to the postnatal period: bit.ly/4h8Xx1W
