@Josie_Osborne @CDCofBC Would love to take advantage of this opportunity, as opposed to having to pay hundreds of dollars annually to receive Novavax in the US. Vaccine-injured by the C19 mRNA vaccines and now have ME/CFS. Bring back Novavax to BC.

This week is National Immunization Awareness week. B.C. is now offering an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine, free of charge. If you have questions about your eligibility, check with your health care provider or phone the call centre @CDCofBC #Covid19SpringImmunization

My daughter Annika is proudly autistic and 12 years old. She drew this butterfly from a photo she took herself — every vein, every scale, rendered by hand on a tablet. She signs everything she makes. Dates it. Like she already knows it matters. She's turning 13 tomorrow. Please share this for her birthday. Let's make her day.

Holy shit, after 5 years Health Canada finally put out engineering guidelines recommending people wear N95s, clean indoor air to reduce viral load, and admitted COVID is airborne. Based canada.ca/content/dam/hc…

@socrdoc @PutrinoLab Our family feels seen in this thread after over three years of LC ME/CFS in both myself and my adolescent daughter. Her once vibrant life feels like a dream at this point. Our reality is what you unpack in this post. Thank you!

I respectfully disagree. As a general pediatrician caring for a large neurodiverse population (ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, CAPD, concussion, anxiety), I’m seeing a very different reality over the last 5 years. 🧵1/14

Over-diagnosis / misdiagnosis / self-diagnosis of EDS, MCAS, POTS, & Lyme is a real problem, and it would appear that there is little appetite by medical professionals to discuss this issue publicly.

6 years on from Covid, BBC Look North highlights the ongoing impact of #LongCovid. Reporter Cathy Minton says it’s personal, her husband Tom hasn’t improved in a year. He still can’t care for his toddler or go for walks. @franhaddock_ says new people continue to get long Covid.

“Risk factors for Long COVID include…occupation as a healthcare worker or teacher” Just published in Nature. Not lawyers, not bankers, not politicians - healthcare workers and teachers, the people society actually needs! Please get over your aversion to N95s. Please.

100% 👇🏼 Many classes in my #bced school are seeing 40–60% of students away sick. With winter concerts and increased gatherings ahead, illness rates are likely to rise heading into winter break. Prevention matters. 😷
Bean & Sprout's Mom@beansprouts_mom

1/ Oof. Flu taking off like a rocket in #bcpoli (as predicted, but who needs prevention from @Josie_Osborne amirite?!). Flu A test ⬆️~2X in 1 wk, from 7.4% to 13.8% COVID going down, RSV up a bit, but still LOTS of both around. #FluIsAirborne. Get your vax asap AND #MaskUp.

💉 Though post-COVID vaccine myocarditis is widely known as adverse event from COVID mRNA vaccines, post-COVID vaccine #POTS is MORE common than myocarditis. It would great for regulatory agencies to acknowledge POTS and #dysautonomia more broadly as vaccine-related adverse events. We discuss these issues in our paper here: 👇 nature.com/articles/s4416…
Eric Topol@EricTopol

Covid mRNA vaccines have a rare link to myocarditis adverse events (~30 cases per million 2nd doses). Today @ScienceTM extensive work in mice shows two inflammation cytokines that appear to be the mediators and a plant-derived anti-inflammatory (Genistein) that blocks it science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

These numbers are staggering! Yet the @bcndp is cutting access to one of the few clinics specializing in Long Covid. That threatens access for rural, remote and homebound patients. After Sept 1, the clinic will have to cut back services. Time to reverse course @Josie_Osborne

It seemed like a daunting task but we got thru all the comments in the time it took to finish a cup of coffee. @DoNoHarmBC has all the info you need to participate. So take 20 minutes and help support a national standard for N95s in healthcare.

Advocacy alert 📣 Until Aug 19, you can give input on a game-changing national standard about using N95s & other respirators in healthcare (and beyond)! We've created a plain-language explainer with some sample feedback, so it's easy to take part: donoharmbc.ca/national-stand…

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) has released a draft standard requiring masks (like N95s) in health care settings to stop airborne infections. This is an important step in making sure health care settings are safe for vulnerable patients. Public comments close Aug 19 – let’s make sure this passes despite pushback!
