@BlaiseInKC The “Stay to play” rackets where you are forced into pricey hotels and everyone gets their cut is what fumes me.

Putting aside the cost of club soccer, I think a problem with the club structure is almost every club coach does the same drills followed by a scrimmage. No discussion of tactics, game theory, nuance, etc. Kids are learning to beat their teammates but not necessarily developing.

This is kind of a weird etiquette situation I wonder about- say I hold the office door open for a woman, and then we both walk down the same hallway. I would think the woman would prefer I actually somehow get in front of her rather than walk behind her for the 30 feet.

It used to be the bigger the venue the more affordable the tickets. Zach Bryan wants $168 and $192 for lower bowl in a football stadium. It’s so much money for a stadium experience. $66 for the worst seats in the house. Why so expensive with 65,000 people?

Kruger is just so magical. Sure, you can hire a guide. Or you can do like us and just rent a car and spot on your own. Just today, we saw: - A pair of male lions (for over an hour) - A leopard sleeping in a tree - Thousands of zebras, wildebeest, kudu, etc. - A herd of 200+ buffalo - Dozens of elephants and girafe - Plenty of lesser-appreciated sightings from fish eagles to a turtle, thunderbirds to a rock monitor! Then to cap it off we saw another couple of juvenile lions a few km from camp.

@Clevta As an alum who watched every game, the D is super vulnerable to athletic wings and bigs, of which there are plenty in the tourney. Hoping their offense can carry but you are spot on here.

Seeing a lot of Purdue as a F4 and title pick which is understandable after their tourney run. They do fall into a category of team that I have highlighted in the past that often underperforms expectations. Elite offense and poor defense for a high seed. #1 in pts/pos on Off but 143rd in pts/pos allowed on Def. I understand SOS adjustments matter but sometimes these efficiency metrics can get overadjusted and can mask poor defense. They dont foul, which is good but they are awful defending 2pt shots and dont force any TOs. That's a recipe to get upset. Only two teams out of 49 in this data set reached the F4 since 2001 and none reached the Title game. #2 seeds in this bucket have underperformed their seed expectations by 1.5 wins. Doesnt mean everything bc if their opp goes cold from 3 they will certainly get stops but they just profile as vulnerable

One thing Texas Roadhouse does, that was so smart, is make almost all the seats booths. You never have to request one or feel disappointed that you didn’t get one. They just removed that potentially negative interaction.
