@betweenstripes He wasn’t so classy when he was screaming at Waterford fans that they were going down to the first division. He done it at the end of the game. Went to the dressing room came back and done it a second time. Real classy alright.

@LeagueofIreland I played down here. I love the place. But I forgot about that when I was screaming at the Waterford fans with viciousness that they were going down to the first division.

Some positive developments with my discussion with the FA on supporting refs who have been assaulted. There has never been a dedicated process to support refs after they have been assaulted. Many don’t hear from the FA or County FA after the case has finished. Many didn’t even know the result of the case and many leave the game due to the lack of support. There was no follow up process to check in with the ref regularly. Interestingly, refs were never told if the person that assaulted them was back playing after their ban. This was clearly a problem that needed addressing. After identifying this and mentioning this in my regular discussions with the FA, I’m pleased to say that the FA have now introduced a new process where the ref will be contacted at regular intervals and the ref will be asked if they want to know when the player who assaulted them is back playing. These discussions came after I noted that the player in this video had served his ban and was back playing but the ref did not know he was back playing after only a 5 year ban. I wish to put on record my thanks to Alan Darfi and Tim Foster from the FA for supporting me with the introduction of my suggestion that I believe will bring in a postive level of support that will keep refs in the game and safeguard the wellbeing of referees post assaults. I have kept in touch with the ref myself over the last 5 years who gave me permission to post this video again. #NoRefNogame

@KillianM2 @LeagueofIreland 4-3 or a 0-0. Who knows what they’re doing and who hasn’t a clue what they’re talking about.

@LeagueofIreland I get VM have to get around all the clubs and the grounds during a season, but if attracting most viewers is important to them, its bizarre that Shels v Bohs isnt the choice here?

@Markochief @dvehendo It was such an innocuous challenge. He came out to clear the ball and there was no connection with any other player. It was whatever way he landed. Don’t think it would have happened on a grass pitch.

@dvehendo Horrendous injury though the question is if it’s a grass pitch does it happen

It's impossible not to be a Dynamo Dresden fan. Not only do they put on a permanent tifo dressed in the team's colors, but they also unleash this insane madness of smoke bombs. Another level. 🔥

@betweenstripes I think the fine should have been a lot bigger with a portion of it suspended and if it happens again they pay the full fine. You can’t take away points, it’s not in the rules. Genuine supporters will suffer with the ban.

My age moving on year after year worries me, it's now at the ripe old age of 40 that I know I will not be signed as a professional footballer, perhaps only on an emergency loan now.

@McDonnellDan @EoinItalia90 A few years back as Waterford fans we had two games in a row where we played away to Derry on a Monday. One a league match and the other a league cup game. Let that sink in. Waterford to Derry on a Monday one week after the other and yes I was at both games with my son.

@EoinItalia90 I’ve made that very point about the reasons repeatedly on the pod and gotten grief for defending Rovers on it …but that doesn’t mean it’s not a valid observation to raise. I see SRFC are hiring marketing exec to help with attendances: I assume stale Mondays will be part of it
