I asked Jamahl Mosley about Orlando’s success running (Zoom?) Handoff actions tonight and if attacking the paint was a point of emphasis in the gameplan against Chicago, who gives up more shots within 5ft than any team “It’s part of our process - get downhill, get to the free throw line, attack the basket, finish at the rim. @magicoutlook The CBA stipulates that if a player signs three 1-year contracts in a row with the same team they automatically get a no-trade clause

He definitely took a discount and Orlando gave him the no-trade clause as a trade off.

@thebrettjames1 @Antonio38281 Sorry, but you’re flat out wrong for saying Orlando is one of the smallest teams in the NBA. We’re the 15th largest media market in the country. Our population will pass Detroit this year. There are 30 teams in the NBA. Orlando is bigger than 15 of them.

@cameronstrang 100% but I think they could’ve signed him to a deal that would’ve worked in that $25-30 million range annually (still cheaper than Bane) and given up less. It’s hypothetical, but just a guess

Here is what the Anfernee Simons trade told me about Orlando: Weltman and the staff were not willing to sacrifice their defense for offense. However they were also willing to pay SIGNIFICANTLY more for Bane than Simons for that very reason.
