FYI new Canadian citizens are Canadians whether you like it or not. Just like presumably you, and I were once new Canadian citizens. And new Canadian citizens are not the only exemption that gets a free pass. Everyone from veterans, active members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families, people 17 and younger, support persons, etc all get a free pass. They're all Canadians. parks.canada.ca/voyage-travel/… parks.canada.ca/voyage-travel/… In 2017, to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, it was free for everyone. Free admission to new Canadians and other groups to various places has been around for a few years at least. Last year, the Royal Ontario Museum granted free access to the entire museum for everyone. Having said that, am no fan of pandering to identity driven groups and one could argue this is a politically motivated decision so definitely fair to criticize it on those grounds. But let's get the facts right. New Canadians are Canadian citizens just like everyone.

Tonight my family walked around an area just East of the main downtown zone. You'd never know that you are in Montreal, Quebec. Where are the French-Canadians? The English Quebeckers? The Greeks? The Italians? The Jamaicans? The Haitians? Everywhere I turned, there were freedom veils and Noble People of Peace. The demographic changes are astounding. It's beautiful because this diversity is going to increase personal liberties and freedoms but especially if you are a gay Jew who owns black dogs.
