I'm not the first to say this but the imperfect pictures from Artemis showing the inside of the vehicle and the imperfections in the windows are some of my favorites Just makes the whole thing feel so real and raw

NASA HAS RELEASED OVER 12,000 IMAGES OF THE ARTEMIS II MISSION. Unbelievable perspectives captured by the Crew! The aurora on the eclipse is incredible.

@ThePrimalDino MFs will say the space shuttle held back the US space program and then just completely fail to acknowledge the ISS. What a beautiful machine

maybe i’m just young and brainrotted but the first few seconds of the phone blurrily readjusting to the moon affected me more viscerally than any other photo that came out of Artemis
Reid Wiseman@astro_reid

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

From the report’s findings: “Based on our analysis, if Axiom experiences design and testing delays in line with the historical average for recent space flight programs, the Artemis and ISS demonstrations may not occur until 2031.”
NASA Office of Inspector General@NASAOIG

After nearly two decades, NASA's next-generation spacesuits remain incomplete. Today, the Agency continues to face delays and is reliant on Axiom Space to develop both the Artemis lunar suits and updated ISS suits. Read our new report to learn more: go.nasa.gov/4cGjdRT

I know that I don’t know what im talking about, but can someone clarify whether or not an SLS is overkill for the new Artemis III mission profile? Why not save that rocket for artemis 4 and boost Orion to LEO on something smaller? The obvious answer is integration but still.

@Cosmic_Andrew1 I think it’s less about proving we can rendezvous and more about testing the systems with people in space and not being a quarter million miles from Earth in case something happens.

Before Apollo 9 the US had only done 4 dockings. Since then we have done 100’s without a problem with a variety of vehicles. Artemis III is a waste of money and of a big rocket to give HLS providers something to do without doing the refueling. Orions already proved itself
