This is outrageous. A small town in Michigan did everything right to stop OpenAI & Oracle from building a $16 billion data center in their town. The people of Saline Township flooded their council meeting, put up signs all over town, and convinced their officials to reject it. The officials voted against the data center 4-1, and that should have been the end. But two days later the developers sued, and the town couldn’t afford to fight back in court. We are not a free nation when billion-dollar corporations can take over the land of our communities and towns. We are a captive nation ruled by corporations and billionaires.

With less than two weeks until Election Day, the state’s most powerful interests are lining up to defeat our campaign. I always knew that taking on corporate interests to stand up for working people would be a big fight, but this has reached another level.  This week, Meta dumped $950,000 to elect Xavier Becerra. The very next day Meta laid off 10% of its workforce. Why are they spending against me? It’s because I’m the only candidate with a plan to tax Big Tech and protect workers.  Chevron also cut a $500,000 check to support Becerra. Just last month, Becerra said he “needs Chevron” and Chevron apparently got the message. Chevron has polluted our state for years. As governor, I won’t cater to Chevron. I’ll make polluters pay.    The healthcare industry has dropped more money for Becerrra too. Maybe it’s because Becerra recently told healthcare lobbyists he doesn’t support single-payer.  Folks, this race has come down to a billionaire who will fight for working people or a politician who will fight for billionaires.  If we win, corporations lose. But I need your vote.

My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation. She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more. We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.
