Ngl I’m still baffled that this tornado occurred within a clear line of sight of a miles-long stretch of chaser convergence and the only other group besides our ISU class that I know of that saw it was NSSL. You’d think the hundreds of chasers would’ve seen it.

@wademorganbeef The real issue here is charging 199 for a scan alone (assuming that doesn't include full diag of the issue) Just the code(s) is not enough to fully diagnose an issue, especially if O'Reilly's employees are involved

Check engine light came on. I went to O’Reilys and got the code. I called the dealership to see what it would cost to fix. They said they wanted to do their own scan for 199.00. But it would go to any repair made. I said I’ve already done the scan. Still 199.00. People are crooks

A blood donation service that delivers even *slightly* less safe blood is a worse blood donation service even if it also avoids making some prospective donors feel unfairly targeted. Because the safety of the blood is a relevant consideration while the feelings of prospective donors is an irrelevant consideration.

Just some thoughts after covering the last few days of flooding in Texas: When you are standing next to and viewing a river at normal water height, it’s truly hard to fathom how high the water can reach at major flood stage. Also, it’s hard to picture how far the water when flooded out of its banks can reach. The power of water is terrifying and really hard for the brain to comprehend in my opinion.

Perhaps some of you will recall that Camp Mystic, where 28 counselors and campers were killed by Guadalupe River flooding last year, had planned to reopen this year. That only did not happen because families of those killed said fuck no you’re not.

🚨 The Guadalupe River has now climbed higher than it did during last year's deadly Texas floods. In Comfort, the river has preliminarily reached 36.19 feet, topping the July 4, 2025, crest that came during the flooding disaster that claimed more than 130 lives.

Northwestern Ontario is burning, and one First Nation community has reportedly been wiped out. Namaygoosisagagun First Nation, also known as Collins, Ontario, has burned to the ground. Because the remote community has no road access, residents were forced to flee by boat and other limited routes. An entire community is gone.

@Spyk3O @SaraForTexLege Rainfall occurred throughout the day. The MRMS viewer, which I am using, can only display up to 200 year periods (500 years would show as 200). In the morning, a 200 year rainfall was recorded. A few hours later, it happened again further east, then again on the Rio Grande. (2/2)
