Dunno where you’re located, but the Bullock Museum in Austin is doing PHM IMAX screenings rn. It’s laser projection, not film, BUT the screen is the largest in TX. I’ve been before for Dune; it’s incredible.
I’ll be making a 6-hour round trip for it next week. 🤣

GUYS LMFAOOAOA i drove a 5hr round trip all the way to houston without knowing what a 70mm IMAX screen looked like and i just looked it up 🧍🏻♀️ they scammed my dumbass and i thought it looked different bc it seemed more vibrant and the screen looked bigger 🧍🏻♀️

@Vinayak2090 @MaxFromQuebec PHM was shot with IMAX 1.43:1 in mind and it looks amazing. But nothing essential is outside of the standard 1.9:1 frame and of course you have choice where to crop out of the tall format. But it does look superior in IMAX.

@captaingandalf @MaxFromQuebec It's disappointing if the director shoots the movie keeping the imax ratio in mind. If it is shot equally good with both ratio in mind. Like shoot with standard in mind and get that extra visuals with imax. I would go for standard any time.

@Vinayak2090 @MaxFromQuebec It's an artistic expression. Ben-Hur makes incredible use of Ultra Panavision 70, and Project Hail Mary makes incredible use out of IMAX. Neither is better, what matters is how it's used.
