Houston has a habit of erasing chapters of its own story. I was sad to see this beauty at 718 Pease St — solid historic brick — demolished back in 2019 for a now empty parking lot.
Imagine if we’d kept the façade and built thoughtfully on top, like this adaptive reuse concept. The bones were right there. Denser workforce-housing, ground floor retail, and Houston’s history still standing.
