Hi Todd you can but from my research there is benefit to acutely going above CO2 levels that you are adapted to. Doing so increases mitochondria as well as increases and improves microvascularization which deteriorates as we age. Similar to exercise. There are some benefits to retaining higher levels of CO2 but also exceeding that for the short term. I have found a good amount of users who are Buteyko practitioners actually have pretty low CO2 tolerance actually.

They say that, but my SodaStream canisters had a nasty industrial taste and smell, like some sort of lubricant or cleaner. It might be what they use to "sterilize" them. The taste disappeared when I replaced it with a CO2 canister I bought from my local homebrew shop and an adapter with the same SodaStream device. So, while the CO2 itself might be food-grade, whatever is done to the canister itself isn't good. From digging into what can be inside 'food grade' stuff itself, there is a lot of crap that can go through it.

@the_bjorn @celestialbe1ng @Masa_Chips Using CO2 therapy people have been able to increase their CO2 tolerance a lot faster than using those methods. There are also many benefits to increase CO2 above your normal acutely throughout the day.

@celestialbe1ng @carbogenetics @Masa_Chips That co2 canister has nasty chemical flavors / off-gassing, go to a homebrew shop, where the food grade co2 canisters have none of that and are much cheaper.
