During our lobby day to #SaveCDPAP from @GovKathyHochul's private equity takeover, some of our members were able to link up in solidarity w/ climate groups. People w/ disabilities & older adults are some of the hardest hit by climate change. And as home care workers struggle to pay their bills, rising gas prices have been yet another hardship. We NEED to care for each other and the earth, especially as the federal government wages destruction on our environment. What is our governor doing?! Today is the 6-year anniversary of Andrew Cuomo’s fatally flawed mandate that put over 9,000 Covid patients into nursing homes to infect the most vulnerable. He still has not been held accountable for his criminal actions. His actions were NOT in compliance with the CDC guidance. Today was the beginning of the end for over 15,000 senior citizens.
