Pep Guardiola's Manchester City earned 90 Premier League points or more in four of his 10 seasons in charge. They have earned four of the 11-best points totals in a 38-game Premier League season. [@will_jeanes]

Sir Alex Ferguson will probably always win the argument as the Premier League’s greatest manager thanks to that longevity and the extra silverware which came with it. But Pep Guardiola is surely the most transformative, owing to the way his style, and variations on it, has been adopted across the nation from grassroots to top flight. History tells us that certain managers at certain clubs are simply impossible to follow, and Guardiola’s impact at Manchester City surely puts him in that bracket. 📝 @SamLee | Free to read 🆓 bit.ly/4wBvsbd

The latest refereeing controversy is simply another reason why the audio has to be played live in stadium and on broadcasts. It works in other sports. Fans, viewers, listeners deserve to know what’s happening in and to THEIR game. The game doesn’t belong to PGMO/IFAB.

The problem with the reasoning that the handball was deemed accidental as the ball also came off Bryan Mbeumo’s hip before it hit his arm is that he then controlled it. It didn’t just hit his arm, he trapped the ball, clearly gaining an advantage as he turned and shot. #MUNNFO

How on earth is that accidental!! It’s handball by Mbeumo. VAR was trying to bring some justice to the initial decision, invites ref to think again, to check the monitor. Ref sticks with his earlier aberration. Bizarre. Nottingham Forest rightly furious. #MUNNFO

Gary Neville on VAR call: 'Honestly, that is ridiculous. The VAR has been clear: the player has handballed it. He looked it for three minutes and the referee has looked at it for another minute. I can't believe what I have just seen. 'That was handball. I don't know what to say.' #mufc

Manchester United… Makes you wonder. Why weren’t they in for Xabi Alonso? Michael Carrick can still succeed at the club, sure, but not in the way that Alonso could. Alonso is a perfectionist. Like Arteta. Carrick closer to Slot (except worse). More reliant on the players.

Manchester City fitness coach Lorenzo Buenaventura is set to leave the club at the end of the season. Those who know the Manchester City setup say it is difficult to imagine Pep Guardiola continuing to work at the club without Buenaventura, meaning the fitness coach’s departure can easily be taken as another sign there is about to be a change of manager.
