My daughter dislocated her knee last month. The in-network MRI? Several thousand dollars. I called a direct primary care doc. $600. No wait. They asked what music she wanted to listen to and changed the lighting for her. That's what healthcare looks like when the free market works. Now imagine 222 million shoppers unleashed.

Day 65 - Happy Sunday All! 🌞 Morning Glucose - 75 BP - 96/63 Day 6 of our metformin pause trial. She was only on metformin 500mg once a day (in the evening) for 11 days. Metformin has a short half-life and should clear the body by day 3-4 after stopping it. So, now we're seeing what her body will do with no metformin. Blood Sugar Yesterday, her blood sugar was below 100 over half of the day, even dropping down to the 60s at one point midday. The highest her sugar peaked at was 120s. We didn't make any changes to her diet. She's still eating beef, chicken, eggs, beef hot dogs, spam, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, and vanilla or chocolate protein powder. She does use about 1/2 tsp of monk fruit sweetener for her mug cakes. She's still taking her enzymes according to fat grams, and she's spreading out her enzymes throughout her meal. I add MCT oil and collagen peptides to her eggs, and I add collagen peptides and creatine powder to her mug cakes. She's going to continue taking her 10 units of long-acting insulin every morning and evening. If her blood sugars continue to stay stable, she doesn't require fast-acting insulin, and her A1C comes down further, we're going to talk about reducing her long-acting and see how it goes. Bowel Movements She still had a total of 7 BMs yesterday but a few of them were very small, and she had no diarrhea at all. They were all soft and formed. BP & Dizziness She had some dizziness this morning getting up to her commode, and this morning's BP was almost identical to yesterday's. But, as she wakes up and begins to drink more water, and she doesn't have watery diarrhea that starts to worsen midday, the dizziness lessens, and her BP increases. All good signs. She took a rest from exercise yesterday, but today she'll be "riding her bike." She has PT again tomorrow 💪 I just pray that we continue to see progress. One day at a time 🙏

@wilsonhlthcoach 🤗 I've been trying to get treated, not just tested, since early January. Never had a long illness before, so I the slowness of the medical system is FRUSTRATING! And every time I have a bad day or setback, I worry I'll die from this before someone helps me.

I first learned to love mules thanks to Huell Howser, who visited the famous Mule Days festival in Bishop CA on his show. Maybe I'll finally go this year: muledays.org

🇺🇸Before early Americans had the steam engine or the internal combustion engine they had something else: the lowly mule. 🇺🇸Did you know: the real MVP of America's founding and settling is the mule? 🇺🇸And that of all people, George Washington himself is the "father of the American mule," since it was his idea to breed them on his Mount Vernon farm? Mules are stronger and smarter than most horses, stoic and gentle, tough as dirt, sure footed, calm, and brave. 🇺🇸We would never have settled the continent without these wonderful, beautiful, funny creatures! 🇺🇸I propose that for America's 250th we commemorate the heroic American Mule with its own statue in the Garden of Heroes, plus a commemorative stuffie that all American children can cuddle and name it George.

@MaryannGut21582 @SteveHiltonx I was shocked and mad when I drove by and discovered it! There was a write-up about the end in the OC Register. I grew up going to the Presbyterian church off the Circle, so I ate in Watson's many times. The owners of the brand wanted to find another location they could afford...

@MaryannGut21582 @SteveHiltonx Watson's is gone, unfortunately. They got priced out of the building years ago and the spot has been a few other restaurants since. No longer looks the same.

@SteveHiltonx Hey, the Circle! Lots of great antique stores, though not as many as decades past. Old Towne Orange is one of the largest historic districts in the country. Many well-preserved homes.

If you live in Orange County, CA, or have at least ever driven the 405 Freeway near Bristol (South Coast Plaza area) on the South side of the freeway stood a gaudy audacious monument to greed in faith-based television - the long derelict Trinity Broadcast Network headquarters. This week, crews began tearing it down. I just drove by this a couple weeks ago and wondered what would become of it. Now I know. ocregister.com/2026/03/18/cre…

@RichardGrenell @GavinNewsom It's already been like this for years! Mazda Miata for most of its life had 140hp. Except in CA, where it had 138. Because of regulations.

For those of you not familiar. The A-10 Warthog is the ugliest, most absurdly beautiful killing machine to ever take flight. A flying chunk of titanium molded around a gatlin gun style cannon; the equally absurd 30mm GAU-8. It commands the adoration of troops on the ground as the sound of its unmistakable mating call the “brrrrrrp” overhead means several enemy fighters have been neutralized. It flies low and slow delivering death more intimately than any other fighter jet could fathom. Cloaked in armor, it’s rumored to be able to take damage to 70% of its airframe and still land with ease. It doesn’t need a long or even paved runway. The uppity nerds running the Air Force have decided to “phase them out” this year… yet here they are continuing to “get some”. I personally think that @USMC should take the them over… they fit perfectly in our “take old shit and make it great” culture.

Thune is flat out lying. You do not have to nuke the filibuster you can use a taking filibuster which is physically grueling and will at some point break Democrats
TheBlaze@theblaze

Fox: "People want to know why the Senate has a majority of Republicans and they can't pass it..." Thune: "To get around the 60 vote threshold, you would have to nuke the filibuster and there aren't the votes for that. It's a math issue. It isn't a question of leadership."
