@StephenM Adjusted for inflation, Apollo 11 cost $3 billion, and total welfare and Medicaid spending in MN was at most $500m.

We spent substantially less on Apollo 11 (adjusted for inflation) than the cost of welfare recently stolen by Somali refugees in Minnesota.

I’ve driven on roads in Thailand, Mexico, Italy, even Florida. The menace that Maryland drivers pose is truly unique
Metro Transit Police@MetroTransitPD

We are on the scene of a crash at 7th and Q Streets NW in DC where a bus was struck by a vehicle, causing it to crash into a building. Three people sustained minor injuries, including the bus operator. @DCPoliceDept and @dcfireems are leading the investigation.

I love how the officer on her left glances down at her rifle and adjusts his position. She’s uncomfortably close to flagging him with an apparently loaded firearm. Not good.
Military Arms@MAC_Arms

I have to say it, this is cringe AF. Clearly she doesn't know how to use the weapon she's been handed as a prop. She could have simply stood next to the officers to make her statement, vs. acting like she's "rolling" into a gunfight with these guys.

There is a legit argument over what support we should give Ukraine. But I don’t understand how so many conservatives convinced themselves that Ukraine conmited an unforgivable offense by getting themselves invaded.

@greggnunziata except vibes, self-positioning, and entertainment value. I can count on one hand the number of prominent conservatives in 2012 who still seem conservative at all.

Free idea for my friends who are congressional investigations staff: infant onsies with buttons. Who puts 20 buttons on baby clothes? Have they met a baby before? Do they hate new parents? American deserves answers.

People talk about Reagan being a moderate in today’s GOP but what people don’t talk about is that a full return to a Reagan-era foreign policy would be a CIA-led coup or invasion of Venezuela to depose Maduro.

NEW: We're suing StubHub for illegally charging DC residents millions with deceptive pricing and hidden junk fees. StubHub uses predatory "drip pricing" to lure, pressure, and exploit customers — violating DC consumer protection laws. StubHub's illegal junk fee scheme must end.

@rorycooper only disagreement here is that it might break the dam - with Himes coming out doesn't that give a permission structure for others?

@rachaelmbade and when you have to kill an old or suffering animal, you take it to the grave as a sad and necessary thing that haunts you regardless. You don't boast in your book to show how "real" or "country" you are.

@rachaelmbade and just to be clear - this is not something people do on farms. We put down animals that are dying or suffering. Putting down a puppy? You're just a bad person.

Noem responds to the reporting about her openly kinda boasting about shooting her dog and goat in her new book. She frames it here on X as a sad thing she had to do occasionally. But in the Guardian story abt what she wrote in her book, Noem doesn't seem remorseful. She seems annoyed and angry at the animals for smelling bad or being rowdy. Not sad
Kristi Noem@KristiNoem

We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm. Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years. If you want more real, honest, and politically INcorrect stories that’ll have the media gasping, preorder “No Going Back”: t.co/TDCUjjMhJZ

Probably there is some kind of falsehood threshhold that, once exceeded, leads NYT to switch to 'lie' and Trump already used up all his credits but Biden has a few left
Clay Travis@ClayTravis

How did ⁦@nytimes⁩ describe ⁦@JoeBiden⁩ lying to Howard Stern about being arrested at a civil rights protest? By saying Biden “appeared to once again stretch the truth.” He didn’t “stretch the truth” he lied. Why won’t ⁦@nytimes⁩ say Biden lied?
