JUST IN: Following the departure of Kurdish forces from al-Qaptan prison in Raqqa, thousands of ISIS prisoners were seen released from the prison. The main doors of the prison camp were opened as seen the footage.

Kurdish women from around the world have come together in a powerful act of solidarity, braiding their hair as a symbol of protest. Their gesture responds to shocking footage of a Damascus-affiliated militant proudly boasting about severing the braid of a Kurdish female fighter.

A humanitarian disaster is unfolding as a result of the Syrian army and tribal militias’ onslaught against Kurds. Kobani, the global symbol of resistance to and the crushing of ISIS, should not be left to suffer in this way.

A clear, concise piece on what’s happening to the Kurds in Syria. Senator @RickSantorum makes plain that no U.S. interest justifies rushing to dismantle the SDF: the Kurds defeated ISIS, guarded its prisoners, & spared Americans the bloodshed. But the warnings are no longer theoretical. Regime-aligned forces have reached ISIS prisons, freeing over 1,000 detainees. And “beware another massacre” is now reality: our Kurdish allies are being captured, tortured, and killed—on camera. So the question “Will we now betray them?” has been answered by events on the ground. This says a lot about what the US military really think about the Sharaa government taking over the ISIS prisons hitherto controlled by the SDF - they are desperately shipping the ISIS prisoners out of the country as fast as possible

Al Hol prison which holds tens of thousands of ISIS fighters and their families is now under attack by govt forces and armed groups.

Israel is demolishing the UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem, with Ben-Gvir said to be participating in the vandalism. I anticipate a statement of concern from the EU before the end of the month.

A catastrophe is underway in Syria tonight. Govt forces are pushing into the north east, clearly intent on occupying the whole region and destroying the SDF, our allies. ISIS prisoners are being released. SDF fighters tortured and executed, gleefully filmed by govt forces. All permitted by an idiotic US, a feckless UK and others. It's a dark, dark moment, which will haunt the countries who so naively embraced Sharaa for a long time to come. They were warned this would happen.
