@Yelp This is great news! But I’m alarmed to learn that Yelp permits reviews from customers engaged in illegal behavior. Like if a customer tries to leave without paying and the restaurant stops them, that customer can STILL leave a bad review and Yelp will elevate it as “recommended”!

My thoughts are with their loved ones and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking tragedy.   Transparency is essential, and the Department of Correction and our oversight partners have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this death.   Our administration remains steadfast in our commitment to both improving conditions in our city's jail system and to closing Rikers Island.
