We are truly blessed. Our new life in America has been an amazing journey so far. It has been only 8 weeks since our arrival, we have our own car. My house is fully furnished, my cupboards are filled with food, I have never owned so much clothing in my life. We have a future!!

On several occasions, I’ve reached out to families and said, “I have what you need, and I can bring it to you today.” More often than not, the response is that they will first try to obtain it themselves. This isn’t driven by pride, but by a deeply rooted sense of resourcefulness and independence. Afrikaners, by and large, are people who prefer to stand on their own feet and help themselves wherever possible. Of course, no group is without exception, but I am speaking about the overwhelming majority. Afrikaners are eager to become self-sufficient. They seek employment quickly, secure housing, and work diligently to build stability without relying heavily on assistance. There is a strong work ethic and a desire to contribute positively. In my experience, these are individuals who don’t come to take, they come to build, to work, and to add value. That, I believe, is an asset to the United States.
