"I do not believe Christ died for our sin....I don't live in a sacrificial culture anymore... When people are like 'I'm just moved by the idea that Jesus died for our sins'- I'm not. I don't even understand the sacrifical system." 'Pastor' of Vinnings Lake Church is too honest.

@John_M_Carter @pjgurry My point is "all translation are.... NOT translations" The copyright law, both in requirement and protections causes copyright-forcing in subsequent versions which at minimum produce sub-optimal translations if not error.

@casey1167 @pjgurry Just to state what may not be obvious to all, moving away from the NASB as an English translation is not equivalent to moving away from “what the original text says.” All translations are … translations.

Okay, very niche observation here, but I think the only mainstream Bible translations to use the contractions “can’t” and “won’t” are: —NET —NLT —HCSB/CSB (I’m excluding paraphrases.)

@grok @arwazDcom @Divyadubeyy So, if lack of familiarity results in youth being the most attractive, it is not consistent women in their late 30s would even be on any objective list unless the list was based on familiarity or limited choice.

Studies show men often rate unknown women in their early to mid-20s as most physically attractive, linked to evolutionary cues like fertility (e.g., OKCupid data, evolutionary psych research). However, surveys like TC Candler reflect media familiarity and popularity alongside traits. The women listed score high in both. Beauty remains subjective—what's your view?

@grok @arwazDcom @Divyadubeyy Is it not true that when men are evaluating women they don't know, youth (between 18-21) is usually the age found most attractive? Thus the women you list are based more on familiarity then on actual looks.

Beauty perceptions in surveys like TC Candler and Ranker blend both: physical traits (symmetry, features) and familiarity (media exposure, current popularity). The women I mentioned are prominent in recent films, influencing votes, but timeless traits matter too. It's subjective—what do you think?

@arwazDcom @Divyadubeyy Beauty is subjective and varies by culture and preference. Based on 2025 surveys like TC Candler and Ranker, top picks include Ana de Armas, Margot Robbie, and Sydney Sweeney. Who's your choice?

@David_Fairchild @BenSchettler Act29 comes in and basically tries to save Churches that are failing, at least that is what I have seen in Washington State. There is a serious lack of firm, doctrinal leadership in Western Washington.

Thanks for asking, Benjamin. I'm not sure which tribe you run in, but I don't really know a pastor that isn't interested in ensuring the emerging generation isn't formed and discipled in a biblical life and worldview. You may be on to something, however, as I do think complete outsourcing to 22 year old youth pastors who haven't thought through some of the issues and complexities students and youth are facing is a huge challenge. That said, I think there is a massive difference between what Charlie did and what pastors are called, in fact commanded, to do. Again, it might be our ecosystem, but the pastors I know care deeply about worldview, apologetics, biblical literacy, and the clear and unashamed preaching of God's word in ways that nourish and form the teens to the elderly.

The popularity of Charlie Kirk among young people is partly due to the silence of American pastors. Gen Z listened to Charlie because he told them the truth about the issues they were facing. He taught them how to answer the tough questions and he kindly gave the truth. Pastors stopped doing this. For the entire lifetime of Gen Z the attitude toward culture by most "church leaders" has been to huddle in the corner, say nothing about big issues and hope that silence will attract people to Jesus. Gen Z needed more and Charlie gave it to them every single day. Charlie was a treasure who resisted the lie that silence will win people to the truth. I hope in his death many will see the light and change.

A bill aiming to ban Glocks and similar clones passed a key committee in California this week, pushing the most recent outrageous attack on the 2nd Amendment even further. AB 1127 targets so-called “convertible” semi-automatic pistols, but in reality, it’s a backdoor attempt to ban the most popular handgun in the country using vague and overly broad language.

@HarpazoDynamo Well, I can't argue against scripture. But I would say growth appears to have been encouraged by Paul's guidance, and not independently...

I don't see that. Paul deals with baby behavior in 1 Corinthians, and evidently, repentance and growth occurred by the time of 2 Corinthians. A similar pattern can be seen in 1 Thessalonians, Paul is pleased with their evangelism (1 Thess. 1:3-10), but goes on to remind them to stop fornicating and live holy (1 Thess. 4:1-7, etc.). Evidently, these issues also clear up by 2 Thessalonians. Growth occurs.

Salvation and sanctification are the same subject. Some treat them as two separate, unrelated subjects. The Christian life is the sanctified holy life. I don't believe there are any examples in the NT of a justified man who never grew by the Spirit/word. Some died prematurely.

@HarpazoDynamo Yet Paul was dealing with perpetual babies throughout scripture. But as example, I love the Bible because it is God's word, yet how many Christian's almost never open it? But I still believe they are saved.

David is a sancified man. Spiritual growth is directional. A Christian, like David, will have failures and sins in their life, and the Lord will deal with them as sons, but there is growth, and their is chastisement, for they are sons of God. There is no Scriptural basis for perpetually baby or carnal Christians.

@JoeShakour @heresacubsfan Dr. Ward is the backbone of the "The Textual Confidence Collective" I just have no clue what he actually believes. The actual number of Greek letters most doctrines are based on are very, very few. For example, two Greek letters would change "name" to "names" in Matt 28:19. 1/2

For the past few months I’ve been using the a personal sized KJV 1611 for devotions and study. Positive- I like the marginal readings and wish they could be reincorporated. Negative: It’s a bit like reading a paper with bad spelling although still not entirely unintelligible. The Roman Numerals were hard at times. The artwork is nice but the apocrypha needed to be removed. Bottom line: if this was actually the KJV complained about with the “intelligibility requires edification” misapplication of I Cor 14 then I would concur. Spelling needed to be updated and at times it was just too distracting—although not impossible. If you’re using a 1611, I would recommend a 1762 or 1769 or a PCE 1900. A 1762, 1769, 1900 KJV are by no means unintelligible. To claim otherwise is disingenuous and denigrating with false aspersion. The 1611 is in Early Modern English and the 1769, 1900 are both Late Modern English. KJV 1611- standardization was needed KJV today- no need and any issues like “shew” are so minor and actually standardized in most KJV editions. A standard KJV text with masterful language aiding in memorization and retention is the one we need. The text issue is reason to stay far away from whatever is being produced today. At best, anything else is inferior and less accurate.

@JoeShakour I found David Green's comments interesting, but oh, he blocked me a long time ago. I read the statement of faith on his Church's website, and I can not tell based on that what he even believes related to the Bible in the first place.
