Our clinical schedules don’t always overlap, but sometimes we get lucky and all work together in the department! *cue last Saturday* 📸 We work shifts at both @TJUHospital’s main campus (Center City) and Methodist (South Philly) 🏥

I'm happy to forward the virtue signal. I hope that we all recognize the unprecedented chance to grab any reins within reach and work on *real* changes in our habits and institutions. @aaronjfisher @arabinow @chadgiusti @ingrids_brain @criticalneuro

Our world is so broken. My heart aches for the lives lost. #GeorgeFloyd #AhmaudArbery (and so many more) Nothing will change until we step out of our echo chambers and listen to those who look different than us. We all (myself included) have so much to learn. Don’t be passive.

This is brilliant. A quick workout that specifically targets the muscle groups used most by frontline providers. I’m excited to start incorporating these into my normal routine!
Academic Life in EM@ALiEMteam

An exercise regimen for frontline providers that requires little space, little time, and can help keep us healthy and prevent workplace injury. Thanks to @properpolymath, @tomasrdiaz @ContessaGayles, and @Ronson911. aliem.com/9-minute-worko…

@DarienStratton Interesting! Looks like the increased echogenicity is due to the increased fibrous tissue from chronic disease. [Clin J Am Soc Nephrol. 2014 Feb 7; 9(2): 382-394.] #CincyAI

In CKD, the renal cortex appears brighter than normal and is similar in echogeneity to the liver. This can make the kidneys easier to miss on a fast since there is less difference in echogeneity between cortex and medulla. #PattiesPearls #CincyAI

Not super profound, but always remember that part of preparing for a procedure is positioning—not just your pt, but also yourself. I tend to forget to raise the bed, find a good seated position, etc but everything becomes easier when I take the time to think about it. #CincyAI

Metallic foreign body embedded in the cornea? You may need to remove it with a needle if rolling a q-tip over it doesn’t do the trick. Approach tangentially and bevel up from the temporal side, and use a flicking motion to dislodge. #CincyAI aliem.com/2010/03/great-…
