@caseyshoots That doesn't negate what I said though? It's still a studio just putting money into an already successful and very well known IP. It's the same problem and will probably just push other studios to continue chasing already successful IPs.

I hope #Backrooms becomes a lesson to studios across the world. I hope it makes 50M+ on opening weekend, but i'm feeling 20-30 which is huge at a 9-15 budget. Kids will go to the movies if you give them things they're interested in, not more IP their dads (me) are in to.

@caseyshoots My concern is it would just make studios continue to only put money into already popular stuff that makes money rather than hiring fresh faced guys/gals and giving them a budget for original stuff
