Securing the at-loose uranium in Iran would require a heavy footprint over a prolonged period. As the president considers deploying troops into the Iranian interior for that purpose, Republicans in Congress have held zero hearings to determine the actual threat & timeline of nuclear break-out; risks, tradeoffs, and probability of success of an American operation, or counterfactual scenarios to impair Iran's nuclear program. The failure of GOP national security lawmakers to do even the basics of their job makes both Americans and their military less secure.
