You have to hear from the Father. He will grow even older before he knows that his father is not entirely what he has been told. He said he last saw his dad 7 years before the day his mother was buried, and later said he left them for 15 years. Incoherent. Grow up, lad, and learn your own lesson. Your mother may not be what you've been told, and your father may not be the evil you think he is. You may not know why your dad made his decision. Your mother, too, may not be completely moving closer to work only. Think for yourself and drop your mother's thoughts. In our generation, if you have the empathy this boy is talking about, you will cry like the man trending now.

Nigeria Must Prioritise Education or Risk Falling Further Behind. Yesterday, at Coal City University Enugu I delivered a lecture on 'Repositioning Nigeria’s education sector for national growth and global competitiveness' I also seized the opportunity to commend the Vice-Chancellor and the entire management of the University for their commitment to academic excellence and for providing a platform for meaningful national discourse. No nation rises above the quality of its education system. Nigeria’s current low Human Development Index (HDI) score of 0.548 and persistent high unemployment are clear symptoms of chronic underinvestment in education and human capital development. The data is equally revealing. Nigeria allocates less than 10% of its budget to education, far below the 15–20% global benchmark. Youth unemployment and underemployment exceed 30%, while life expectancy remains among the lowest 50–55 years. Literacy levels hover below average 59% and 65%, all of which point to deep structural weaknesses in our development trajectory. In contrast, comparable countries such as Indonesia and Egypt, and South Africa have high HDI levels with HDI scores of 0.72–0.75. They all have higher life expectancy of above 65 years, higher literacy levels and higher per capita incomes of $3,500 above, while Nigeria is about $1000. This stronger progress was through sustained and deliberate investment in education, healthcare, and broader human capital development. The difference is not in talent, but in priority and policy consistency. We must move beyond rhetoric and confront these realities with urgency. I therefore called for a total review of Nigeria’s education funding model, stronger public-private partnerships, and more inclusive policies that recognise the role of both public and private institutions in educating Nigerian students. It is difficult to justify excluding private universities from intervention frameworks like TETFund when they are actively contributing to national capacity building. Education is not charity; it is the foundation of national growth and the gateway to global competitiveness. With sustained investment in education and a deliberate focus on human capital development, a new Nigeria is not only POssible - it is inevitable. -PO

Yesterday's Advocates of democracy, Today's Oppressor of the Press Nigeria is drifting dangerously. At a time when our nation should be strengthening its vital democratic institutions, we are witnessing a pattern that shows the opposite. The recent notice by the National Broadcasting Commission, especially at this critical time of the general elections, is very troubling. A free and responsible media should not be an enemy to any administration, especially one that claims to have fought for democracy. The media is the conscience of the nation. Attempting to stifle voices, moderate opinions, or intimidate journalists under the guise of regulation only weakens our already fragile democracy. Institutions are not built to serve governments; they are built to serve the people. At a time when insecurity is on the rise, young Nigerians are losing faith in the country, and the economy continues to fail the average citizen. Our focus should not be on controlling media narratives, but on delivering results. Nigeria does not need stronger control. Nigeria needs stronger institutions. I stand in solidarity with Nigeria’s media houses and broadcasters who are standing against this attempt to silence independent voices and restrict free expression. We must return to the path of transparency, accountability, and true independence of all arms and agencies of government. We cannot continue to endanger our democracy. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

An institute in Nigeria can never be trusted with any investigation at this moment. They're all corrupt, so don't be surprised when this institution upholds INEC's shabby report. And when they do so, it would be great to take them further internationally so the world will disregard anyone or certification from this institution. Every chairperson in Nigeria now wants the chair of the stolen resource.

They tried to stall the moving train, To drown the hope, to break the chain They whispered through the northern air, to turn a course already clear. They sought the elders’ voice and hand, To shift Kwankwaso from his stand, But time had passed, the die was cast, Their efforts are fading, far too fast. Now in disguise, they echo loudly, A shadow play before the crowd They twist the chant, they shape it “KO,” But truth resists the hollow show. For rising still, through doubt and smoke, The people’s call remains “OK” spoke💕 With Obi standing, firm and true, And Kwankwaso beside him too. And in that bond, a nation says: Loud and clear 📢 🔊 Nigeria will be OK—one day. 🤝 @OK2027movement #OkMovement #NigeriawillbeOk

My take on the OK MOVEMENT: The movement in every southern state should, in fact, involve non-indigenous people of the states, particularly those from the Northern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬, who sincerely align with the OK vision. They will do wonders and turn things around by penetrating and changing the false religious narrative within Northerners in their neighbourhood. Also, they are the ones I believe will never allow ill elements or thugs to disrupt or sabotage the campaign or the election. We must not entrust leadership to people with a history of partying with current politicians, as they are easily bought off and bribed. The politics ahead is not a gentleman's business and requires fierce preparation for the unforeseen, although predicted and certain, violence that the ruling party will unleash on innocent Nigerians. Also, we need to infiltrate the local neighbourhood with a clear manifesto that outlines the challenges they face and would face if used as a tool of election malpractice. In this, I mean thugs, cultists, criminals and other political evils. The election is not going to be a vote-and-go-home. We must have people ready to protect the votes, compel INEC criminals to upload results at the polling unit, follow the results through to the last point, and tick every box that makes rigging impossible. All these are to avoid thieves and criminals from changing the whole state result.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE OK MOVEMENT 20th April 2026 Abuja A NEW DAWN FOR NIGERIA: THE OK MOVEMENT UNVEILS NATIONAL STRUCTURES • A bold, people-powered political force emerges in uniting Nigerians across divides to confront hardship, restore accountable leadership, and drive a decisive national rebirth. Nigeria stands at a defining crossroads. Today, as our people endure the weight of unprecedented economic hardship, the soaring cost of living, and the persistent shadow of insecurity, the Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement formally announces the unveiling of its national and state structures. This is more than a political milestone; it is the birth of a coordinated, nationwide engine for systemic reform and national rebirth. A Nation in Need of Healing We recognise the exhaustion felt in every Nigerian household. From the farmer unable to harvest in safety to the entrepreneur stifled by a volatile economy, the struggle is real. Yet, in this moment of darkness, the OK Movement stands as a beacon of resolute hope. Our mission is anchored in a singular, unwavering conviction: Nigeria will be OK. We do not offer mere rhetoric; we offer a structured, disciplined pathway towards a country that works, not for the few, but for every citizen. Unity Over Division The OK Movement is a home for all well-meaning Nigerians. We reject the tired politics of tribalism, regionalism, and religious sentiment that have long been used to keep our people divided while the nation falters. Our strength lies in our diversity, and our progress depends on our unity. We are mobilising from the grassroots to the capital, fostering a shared identity built on integrity, competence, and the collective responsibility to rescue our future. We believe that national renewal is not the task of a single tribe, but the duty of a united people. Our Sacred Mandate Our vision is deeply rooted in the highest aspirations of our land. We are guided by the profound prayer found in the third stanza of our National Anthem: "Oh God of all creation, grant this our one request. Help us to build a nation where no man is oppressed, and so, with peace and plenty, Nigeria may be blessed." This is not merely a lyric; it is our blueprint. We seek to build a Nigeria where justice is a right, not a privilege, a nation where "plenty" is shared through economic stability, and "peace" is secured through decisive leadership. The Road Ahead In the coming weeks, the official inauguration of our state chapters will commence across the federation. This is an open invitation to every Nigerian who believes that our current reality need not be our final destiny. Through solidarity, purposeful leadership, and the courage to demand better, we will prevail. The structures are set. The vision is clear. The movement is here. Together, we will make Nigeria OK. My name is Abdul Wahab. I am pleading with my Football Twitter (FT) family and everyone on this app to please RT. I am on the verge of losing a life-changing opportunity simply because of where I come from, and I have worked too hard to bottle it now. I grew up in extreme poverty in a small village called Kwabenantene in the Ahafo Region. I am the very first person in my family and my entire village to ever get a university education. My path was never easy. To survive undergrad, I literally had to drop out of classes mid-semester, pack my bags, and go back home to do heavy construction work just to raise enough money to survive the next term. I was laying bricks to pay for my textbooks. Despite having zero financial safety net, I poured my blood and sweat into my studies and graduated with First-Class Honours in Economics, ranking in the top 1% of my entire cohort of 435 students. But I didn’t just want to succeed alone; I went back to my village, gathered the youth, and started teaching and mentoring them. Because of that work, two students from my locality have now successfully made it into university too. I want to lift my people up. All this hard work finally paid off: I just received admission into the highly prestigious, integrated Masters/Ph.D. Economics program at Goethe University Frankfurt (GSEFM) in Germany! My tuition is officially 100% waived. However, I am facing a massive roadblock. Because the program is so competitive, I wasn't put directly into the fully-funded Ph.D. cohort right away. Instead, I was admitted to the MSQ track for Year 1. I will take the exact same rigorous classes alongside the Ph.D. students, and if I pass my Year 1 qualifying exams, I transition directly into the fully-funded Ph.D. I know I will pass those exams. The academics don't scare me. The finances do. My only problem right now is getting funding to cover my Year 1 living expenses in Frankfurt. If I can just survive these first 12 months, the Ph.D. funding takes over and my future is secured. To my FT family: you guys know my grind and my loyalty. If I get this lifeline, I promise I will proudly represent FT in every academic hall, conference, and research room I ever step into. I just need a chance to be in the room. I cannot let a lack of living expenses kill a dream I built with my bare hands. If you know of any scholarships, foundations, philanthropists, or anyone who can sponsor a village boy for just one year, PLEASE tag them or reach out. Please RT this until it reaches the right timeline. Let’s make this happen! 🌍📚🙏🏾

N34.44 Trillion naira of our money has vanished into thin air under Tinubu. No wonder they can afford to purchase everyone who is in the market.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Nigeria Is Bleeding From Within It is deeply troubling to read recent World Bank reports indicating that, while Nigeria’s Federation Revenue surged to ₦84 trillion in just three years, a staggering 41% —amounting to ₦34.44 trillion —never reached the Federation Account. This sum exceeds the combined ₦34 trillion earmarked for capital projects in the 2024 and 2025 Appropriation Bills, a comparison that underscores the gravity of the situation and signals that something is fundamentally wrong. This is not a mere oversight; it points to institutionalised corruption on a massive scale. In 1994, when the Okigbo Panel reported about $12.4 billion from the Gulf War oil windfall as unaccounted for, Nigerians were outraged and the nation shook with indignation. Today, an even more troubling situation appears to be unfolding, yet it is met with a disquietening silence. We are trapped in a lethal paradox: Earning more as a nation, yet having less to invest in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. From 2025, systemic “deductions” have allowed agencies to capture more resources than entire states and even critical ministries. These leakages explain why countries with fewer resources are out-performing us across key development indices. With such a broken system, how can we fix power, strengthen our schools, build resilient healthcare, or develop critical infrastructure? Nigeria has no business being poor. We must stop these leakages through disciplined, transparent leadership driven by character. It is time to redirect our hijacked resources back to the people and move Nigeria into the league of developed nations. With our collective resolve to change this corruption-infested system, a New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
