This morning I heard my neighbour and his wife arguing…and the issue? Omo it’s deep. Apparently before they got married, the man suggested they should run the house 50:50. They’ve been doing that for like 3 years now. Now they want to start having kids… the woman said since everything has been equal, they should use a surrogate and both split the cost. She even priced it lmao… about 14 million, so 7 million each and she is cool with it, apparently she has found a surrogate. The man rejected the offer😭 that it’s the woman’s job to carry his pregnancy… and why will he marry and another woman will give birth for him? The woman said it’s unfair… if everything has been 50:50, why should she be the only one to go through pregnancy pain alone? When she is also contribute in paying her hospital bill and other baby stuff. As I’m typing this, both of them have called their families, it’s about to be along night lol. Omo this matter don long 😭 If you were them, what would you do? Or what advice would you give the couple? Pls repost 💔

@Maggiewitdsauce @jon_d_doe Something is fundamentally wrong with that union. If they, in their thirties, can stay together in the same house for 14 months without physical intimacy, it means the marriage has been over long before now.

A 30 year old married woman. Her husband is 38. They have been married for 10 months and they have a baby that is 1+ years old. Her mother did omugwo for one month and left. The married woman doesn't work, and her husband provides for her. She has been complaining to her husband that she needs a house help, and that she's getting tired. Her husband has not been intimate with her for almost 14 months. So she has been telling her husband that she wants to go stay with her mother for sometime, so that she can "clear her head". Her father died 5 months ago. The husband asked her to go see a mental health doctor and paid for it. She went and was examined, and she was advised to be around people more, to avoid hurting herself. Her husband and her mother do not have a good relationship. So he wasn't in support of his wife going to stay with her. Rather, he doesn't mind if her sister comes around to stay with her for a while. She then decided to call her husband on the phone when he was at work. And she lied to him that her mother was having kidney failure, and she wanted to go see her. Sensing that she was lying, the husband then called her sister to confirm her story. Her sister told the husband that it was a lie, and that their mother is not sick. The husband returned and asked her to pack her things and leave his house. She left the next day with their baby to be with her mother. Now, the husband's father called her mother, to tell her that the marriage is over. And that she should inform those people that collected her bride price that he would be coming with his people to dissolve the marriage. She's in my DM asking me to save her marriage. Do you think that this marriage can be saved? End.

@cchukudebelu We are sha funny in this country. Does every Nigerian tribe cook with ogri, does everyone fry palm oil? Does every one cook everyday? Maybe their own is to heat stuff up and eat. So they should not design their kitchen as they like again, just because, "as Nigerians...

We shouldn't do "open plan kitchens", simply because Americans are doing it. Americans do not cook with ogili, they do not boil beans, they do not make akpu in their kitchens.

@UnkleAyo I went with my children to the portharcourt museum some weeks ago. It was closed, the gate man was unsure if there was a strike or something else. Should these artifacts be back in their Nigerian shrines or in our museums? Where do they really belong?

I was at the British Museum yesterday & my blood boiled nonstop throughout the 40 mins experience. Before I share my experience with the Nigerian section, let me tell you about the most chilling view that upset me the most. This is the tree of life and it is from Mozambique 🇲🇿 The Mozambican Civil War, which started 2 years after they gained independence from Portugal was a 15-year conflict that occurred between May 30, 1977 and October 4, 1992. Although masked as an internal civil war, it was in fact a proxy war between the Soviet Union and the United States. This war claimed over a million lives. After the war, a project called "Transforming Arms Into Tools" launched and it was aimed at incentivizing citizens who had arms from the war to lay them down, in exchange for tools for farming. Over 600,000 weapons got collected and dismantled. So, 4 artists took parts from all of these dismantled weapons and weaved it into this 3-metre standing "Tree Of Life". Somehow, it got "installed" in the British Museum in 2005. Relics and symbols of cultural heritage that shouldn't have left our homes - sit in glasses as attraction latches, for a show to the same people who came raiding. This should not have left the soil of Mozambique - it is a symbol of pain, agonizing deaths. It has the fusion of a million blood enmeshed in these arms. This doesn't belong here.

Dear @nigimmigration is it right that a person who has a 3 month Nigerian visa issued by the consulate in Argentina, be asked to renew the visa every month at a cost? Why is this pls? How does this encourage foreign visitors?

@abdullahayofel If he was so interested in preserving the ant hill, he should have built his fence around it. So they can truly exist in nature. Where would the ants get food from now or do what ever else it is that ants do?

because my boss at work was kind towards me and even threatened that we would relocate if I didn't comply. My family, seeing how Jidekene's control was escalating, tried to intervene. Blinded by love and wanting to prove my loyalty to Jidekene, I was ready to turn my back on them. But one night, as I contemplated my future, I realized that love should not come at the cost of my freedom and aspirations. I couldn't give up everything I had worked so hard for and isolate myself from the people who truly cared about me. I broke off the engagement and chose to prioritize my own happiness and career. It was the hardest decision I ever made, but I knew it was the right one.

I loved a guy so much that I was ready to turn my back on my family. I know you might be judging me already, but trust me, if you have ever been in love, you will understand. I met Jidekene in my second year in school when I tried sneaking into a lecture that had already begun 30 minutes ago. The lecturer, Mr. Akpan was a strict man who had zero tolerance for lateness, and once he entered a lecture hall, no one else could enter.

Dear @deboladaniel Your father was Governor of Ogun State for 8 years. What initiatives did he undertake to improve the lives of people living with disabilities during his tenure? Your father wields significant influence in Nigeria. Apart from enhancing your own circumstances, what efforts has he made to support people with disabilities across the country? What contributions have you personally made to assist them? Or is your focus solely on yourself? Do the lives of others living with disabilities not matter to you?

Being disabled often rolls over my spirit, leaving behind a trail of shattered dignity and forgotten humanity. Nowhere more so than in Nigeria.

@jon_d_doe How i just love the last two pieces of this thread. Explore each other's fantasies and ensure you're sexually compatible. As long as you get married, you still married her a virgin, and there's no immorality in that. Men, ensure you're satisfying your wives

Please make sure you read this DM to the last screenshot. It's from a married man. I need you to carefully read my advise to him. Be open minded as you read it. A few days ago, I reminded us that just because you married your wife as a virgin, doesn't mean that she will not

KOSI UGO WROTE 👇🏼👇🏼 Meet Veekey. I don't know who she is and I have honestly not heard about her, until I saw her trending today. But, from what I've been reading so far; Victoria is the first Nigerian woman to ever pay for her own wedding gown. Victoria is the first Nigerian woman to fly a professional photographer from Lebanon to grace her wedding. Victoria is the first Nigerian woman not to sell Aseobi material to her friends. Victoria is the first Nigerian woman to contribute to the food and drinks that were served on her wedding day. Victoria is the first Nigerian woman whose parents house did not need roofing before getting married. Victoria is the first Nigerian woman who didn't come from a wretched, poverty-stricken background and married to uplift herself and her generation from abject poverty. Most importantly, Victoria is the first Nigerian woman who got married that God will not punish for 600 years! ©Kosi Ugo.
