youtube, courses, and articles never worked for me.
learn:
i just designed a lot — primarily for contests. i don't endorse contests as a way to make money, but it's an incredible tool for honing your craft if you are just starting out.
level up:
eventually, I met seasoned designers who were willing to invest in me through mentorship. they would poke holes in my work and help me develop "taste".
