@feather___co Your page is one of the best scrollytelling sites I've seen in a while but you desperately need to double the height of the site. Animations play too fast, scroll triggers are too sensitive. It's impossible to appreciate and I want to!

Meet Devin Fountain, Head of Development at NOOON. Devin leads and oversees every site we ship. He's the architect of our custom Webflow framework. Lightweight, semantic, accessible foundation that makes our sites load almost instantly. Devin was a product designer for years before he was a developer. He understands design intent at a deeper level than most engineers ever do. When he builds, he doesn't just translate Figma files into code. He sees what the design is trying to do and builds in a way that protects the intent. We've also worked together long enough that it shows. We co-founded footer.design together back when it was a side project. He's the first person I want in the room when a build gets complicated. About the Everlane purchase. Why does this happen all the time? Why do massive corporations buy businesses only to grind them into the ground? What’s the point? So in 4-5 years EL is just a tiny ecomm? Feels like a waste of money

threading the needle

I've seen way too many footers lately with an outdated copyright year, let's fix that. 1.) Copy paste to the end of </body>. 2.) Wrap the year in a span with class 'copyright-year' <script>document.querySelector('.copyright-year').textContent = new Date().getFullYear();</script>

006/100 Buttons. That one was a bit easier to craft. We basically have the button and a duplicated part that appears on hover. The hover part is only shown when the button is hovered. On mobile we would only have a tap animation, as there is no hover. The hover part is clipped with a clip-path. On hover we see how it starts from the middle and reveals everything. With a slight scaling on the text, it looks like the text in the front gets clipped as well. It also feels nicer when the second text gets scaled too. I’m using clip-path: polygon(0% 50%, 100% 50%, 100% 50%, 0% 50%); as the starting point. There are many more animations you can create with just clip-path. It’s super powerful. Only Safari has sometimes some weird quirks with it. This animation is also done purely with CSS. Crafting 100 Buttons with @osmosupply ⏳ Total time: 75h

The new NOOON HQ is coming together. It's not totally done yet, but I'm excited to have a creative space that works as hard as we do.

@devinsfountain @mercury And this reminds me of the new wealthsimple.com too - they had the best site ever and the new one I guess have new team.

The new @mercury site has to be hurting new user acquisition. Videos and images are low resolution, vertical rhythm is broken, negative space is cramped, and the layouts are z-shape whiplash. The first thing you see is AI-gen and does the opposite of instill confidence.
