@ScarredCitizen @XXIV_Concept @Corvus_Null I read their patent submission, CIG certainly claims they have a novel new thing worth spending the effort and money going through the patent process, which is the opposite of "industry existing".

You guys realize Star Citizen has taken so long because it’s not built on some other company’s engine. CIG are building a first of its kind game engine ALONGSIDE an actual playable game with weekly/monthly/yearly content. Star Citizen is just the playable and testable version of Star Engine. Just like Fortnite is the playable testable version of Unreal Engine. But y’all ain’t ready to have that conversation yet. That $5000 “ship” isn’t for you. It’s for a different class of supporter. The same kind of person who donates thousands of dollars to a cause they believe in and in return gets a brick with their name on it. Or a plaque for their wall. At that level- you’re not buying a ship, you’re buying into status. You’re buying recognition within the community. And that matters to some people. But you don’t need it to enjoy what’s already there. And I know a majority of the community would back me up on that one.

They submitted patents for their work on server meshing etc. took 5+ years of trying lots of things that didn't work until they figured it out. Any other studio would kill the feature and move on. CIG is funded by the players so they can afford to be the most ambitious game ever, even if it takes a while to achieve the goals

@ARiAx4RTMx If sq42 actually comes out this year and makes enough money, then 2027: castra system 2028: terra system 2029: 1.0 beta year of optimization and bug fixing with year end 1.0 'release'

@Chrangus_ @iZurgg Sony can close the studio and give destiny to one of their first party studios, who can then hire people who will actually make a game that people want to play, vs an activist art project disgusied as a game. Insomniac, Naughty Dog, etc. they could make a good game.

@XXIV_Concept @Scornlock Ok so here is the plan. We hire developers and artists we sell the ships for real money with big fomo sales events we release regular patches with new features, ships, and missions for 10-20 years. more money we bring in, the more employees we hire. youtu.be/jgYYOUC10aM?si…

People don’t wanna give Star Citizen a chance because it doesn’t hold your hand. Requires you to accept that there will be [many] bugs. Forces you to be uncomfortable with the idea of spending HOURS just to learn basic gameplay. Oh and the ignorance of thinking you have to spend $1000s to play. The game is $45. No sub. That gets you a ship capable of doing everything you need to earn credits in game to buy the $600 ships featured in headlines fed to you by misinformed outlets. I’ve yet to see a real game reporter or reviewer actually do their due diligence and cover it well or appropriately. It’s disrespectful. The community is so willing to provide a guided tour yet they’ve never asked. That ignorance gets in the way of doing actual research providing real information to readers and viewers. You wanna see Star Citizen, maybe reach out to one of the many talented creators/communities who know a thing or two before writing that “hot” headline about the next $5000 ship in a game “not released yet” to get your quarterly numbers up. Half the games coming out today are marked as early access and take years to finish. Star Citizen happens to be on the cheapest which I know I know doesn’t fit the “narrative”. Subnautica is an excellent example of this. It took them years to “finish” the first one. And you’d be crazy to think it won’t take years for the second one. Yet look how incredible the current build is. It’s hypocritical. The poor reporting for SC is plain unjustified and led by one sided outlets too scared to get uncomfortable about video games because it would step on their ego. Better at sticking to games that are 98% cutscenes and play for you. Do better.

@wccftech *early access has been released and delivering multiple patches a year since December 2017. More and more playable, flyable features, content, ships every year. More hours logged playing than Destiny, which was my main game until I found this one.

@Flynn_Alan_SC @chonkrider @RobertsSpaceInd they explained the challenges for concepts, they very much prefer the new standard of selling ships that they can release immediately vs fans falling in love with a concept artists images and disappointed when the in-game models dont match exactly

@catphonics @chonkrider @RobertsSpaceInd Thank you very much for the clarification I see from you and another commenter that the Odin was the last one, I just wasn’t around for that so I figured it was a new concept that came out and not some promise back in the day

The biggest issue with #StarCitizen isn’t ambition anymore. It’s trust. When ships sold many years ago are still waiting in pipeline while new concepts keep appearing, people stop feeling like backers and start feeling like permanent customers. $1B 🤑 raises the standard.

@Flynn_Alan_SC @chonkrider @RobertsSpaceInd They said no more new concepts, except the last ship from the Kickstarter. Every time they said no new concepts, they made it clear there was one last exception. That ship, the Odin, is the last concept sale. Everything from now on will be straight to flyable.

In the late 1990s there was a stake Fathers and Sons overnight camp and after dinner and dark, someone organized a 50x50 CTF game. I still think back to that night

Thank you to all backers of our dream space game 🚀🪐 Privileged to have scored Star Citizen and shaped with you the music since its birth. Since the very first commercial - 300i, the very first launcher to install the game, the very first hangar module - a static ship and hangar - to a multisystem groundbreaking, multiplayer ship, multi planetary seamless experience, to the first system jump, to the latest Tactical Strike Group patch. From my heart, thank you ! 🙏

Grok foundation model V9-Medium (1.5T) has finished training. Evals look good. A lot of Cursor data was added in supplementary training and there is more to come. Fine-tuning is underway and reinforcement learning begins in a few days. 2 to 3 weeks to public release. This will be a major improvement over the 0.5T v8-small that currently serves all Grok production traffic, especially for difficult coding tasks.

Face of a legit genius. He has given us so much. And taken so much away (600i rework mf) But most off all we have him to thank for so many cool details, concepts and ideas for the ship we all love. He has helped create an entire world of fictional ship manufacturers that feel so real that we all argue about which one is better like its Apple V Android. So much love and respect for JC even though he gate keeps the sort after and much NEEDED 600i rework. Also John where tf is the BMM? On a shelf? How big is this shelf? Give now. Dan ❤️'s JC

@TradexWhisperer @Hale_yess Micron ceo straight up saying their top customers want 2x as much as they can currently deliver. $1000 would still be under valued based on their top memory demand

@Hale_yess HBM and SOCAMM wasn't a thing before 2025 and these products were created solely for AI Inference Cache/Context purposes. That's where the structural shift begun, when you reduce your photo/video memory/storage output to increase the AI output.

$MU Two firms. $1,100 price targets And $1,600 is still only 16x Forward PE. Semi sector average: 34x. The market is applying a cyclical discount to a structural business. That Micron is gone. It's now AI Cognitive Capacity, G1-G3 Context Enabler. The discount will not last.

Better approach would be to draw a line at 2016 with 3.0 as 'early access' and everything after that is not 'funding' but 'revenue' from people playing alpha. I've been playing the alpha game for 10 years now. The company spends most of the funds on salaries + server costs, more revenue = more people hired to make the game. Revenue ever goes down? They'll reduce the headcount accordingly. Simple business operational math.

@simonsarris @catta_pilosa Maybe 'show group label + hide individual labels in this group' Then you can do East Bank Strawberries As the group But still have the individual plants / rows etc (cause then you can add notes which are producing etc)

@catta_pilosa There's just sooo many options/ways to use it, its hard to think ahead towards a design for everyone. Partly also a tooling issue, what Jocelyn needs for hundreds of small strawberry plants is an "area" based plant thing, rather than so many small entities, then it has 1 label

label overload I'm deciding different ways of allowing users to show/hide labels, or auto-move them, or choose what the default labeling says. But in doing this I risk options overload
