Thank you, Mr. Carney, for saying what so many liberal Canadian Jews are saying around our Shabbat tables: this Israeli govt is extremist and they don't represent us or the best of the Israeli people.

Today, I spoke with the President Herzog of Israel. I reiterated that the appalling treatment of civilians aboard the Gaza-bound flotilla was unacceptable, and that respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times. I underlined the imperative of de-escalation in the Middle East, and the importance of a genuine resumption of dialogue among all parties. Progress toward peace and stability in the region must remain the clear, shared objective.

Consultaseme en el foro por mi personaje preferido de Game of Thrones. Hay una sola forma correcta de pensar estos problemas. La preferencia por un personaje ya sea de ficción o del mundo real no puede estar dada nunca por las capacidades innatas de dicho personaje. No ha hecho nada para merecerlas. Le han tocado. Ya sea físicas o intelectuales. Siempre debe ponderarse la actitud con la que el personaje afronta los problemas que tiene por delante. Dicho de otro modo, los valores o principios sobre los que decide actuar. Por eso el mejor personaje de GoT es Jon Snow. Porque actúa guiado por el honor, el deber, la moral y los principios que han hecho grande Occidente. Esta es la verdad. Téngase presente.

That's funny. The condom flotilla returned to Spain and instantly had the shit kicked out of them by the local police. Ironically, much rougher than the Israeli police. It's almost as if they're insufferable pricks who can't be handled any other way even by friendly nations...
